If your working as a squad with mics the best way to take out a tank is have a kamikaze spec. ops guys run at it form the front, even if the driver shoots 9 out of 10 times he will reverse, thats where the engie. who sneakily tip toed behing the tank puts his AT mine down.

The only time i bail out of tanks is when there is some AT guy hidden well, he pops out and you see him fire his rocket and the tank is about to explode, if you bail fast enough you can live and shoot him while he is vulnerable.

NEVER bail out when a guy C4's you. 1) because if you do, the blast of the tank explosion and C4 will kill you before you can run away fast enough. 2) because he may not blow the C4, and he'll instead shoot you and take the tank. 3) Another teammate may kill him before he has chance to blow it. 4) If you back up or move forward fast enough there is a very small chance you can run him over or shoot him.

What's funny though is the guy's quick reaction to detonate it will cause him to kill himself if you bail out and he sees you.

Or if you are AT, get out when it's one hit away from blowing up, when the enemy jumps in, boom.

You have to be an idiot to jump out of a tank and let the other team get it.

Last night in SAK I blew up an enemy APC right infront of me. It only had 2-3 bars of health left, and an Anti-tank was about to fire, so I jumped out, ran over and killed the guy. My APC was still there, so I starting running back to it when the destroyed remains of the enemy APC blew up a second time (u kno when the rest of its destroyed remains disappears), killing me and leaving my APC in enemy terrority. I couldnt believe it.

As for noobs getting out of there tanks, thats just as bad when a player doesnt move forward in armour. They just sit there from a distance trying to kill guys, not capping any flags. Scared of one hit.

How many times do I have to watch some guy jump out of a tank and basically give it to the other team? By jumping out of a tank you basically give it to the opposing team and let them get slaughtered.

Last night 5 rounds of Karkand I was MEC..and all 5 rounds I ended up with the APC or Tank..why..cause they keep bailing..I jump in a highly damaged tank request supplies..then the other team now has 2 tanks, sometimes 3, bretahing down there neck.

So for the love of god if a spec ops guy runs up to your tank and throws c4 on it..eat it and die..if a Engi throws AT mines around you..run them over and die...if an AT guys whips on you and you knwo its 1 shot from explosion, JUST DIE!

Your 1 death will save you and your team mutiple deaths.
I half way agree with you in the respect that you should never leave a badly damaged tank to the enemies (blow it up yourself if you want to get out) but sitting in the vehicle dying with it is just plain silly and unnessecary.

If my tank gets low enough to die by another AT round or tank shell ect.. I'll almost always bail out. However when I do I'll then get behind my tank and begin to repair it as quickly as possible. Of course I'll keep my eyes peeled for enemies sneaking up to grab it and I'll use the tank itself for cover so I don't die during the repair. Depending on the situation I'll also hop around like a bunny rabbit on crack to make me an impossible target for any snipers who may be concealed behind me and sometimes I'll pop smoke if I know no enemies are close enough to the tank to make a run for it (when we have a UAV for example). I can almost always salvage the tank instead of just letting it explode and although I might lose it 1 in maybe a hundred attempts it's rare enough to make it a fair trade off. If the repair zone is really hot sometimes I'll quickly stick a mine undeneath the tank so if an enemy does manage to grab it he'll be in for a nasty surprise.

It can be quite funny as I'll bail out and stand behind my tank or to the side to repair it and I'll be peaking around the edges/underneath it and see like 3 or 4 enemies approaching it head on trying to snag it (thinking I'm dead/gone) only to have me hop back in and waste them all easily as they have no cover.

I do that too, run up to the tank and bring out my knife and clink away at the hull. Seems to make the guy in the tank to run off in stark raving terror. Oh and thanks for the tank:laugh:

This reminds me ... the other day someone in a tank was trying to capture a flag on sharqi. I also happened to be in the area and after waiting around a while he got out to look for why he couldn't capture the flag. As soon as he jumped out I finished him off and hopped on into the tank and enjoyed it for the rest of the round.

Id like to add If you are in a driver seat dont go up to the gunners seat to spot or do whatever, you are exposed to snipers and other small arms fire, and that helmet dont protect you, i have seen someone noobishly do that in Karkand. We were USMC and of course running to take the hotel spawn. I saw 1 squad of MEC guys camping the flag, Tank driver stops next to the hotel, switches to his gunner seat to kill the guys up at the hotel, but got killed by small arms. and the enemies took the abrams to pwn us.

Hehe.....there are ways to make giving up your tank work to your advantage, now I only do this when Im Special Ops, but I will let my tank get a bit beat up and if Im out numbered, just causing a diversion or trying to stall for time until re-enfoorcements arrive I will abandon the vehicle. now I ussually do this at a "safe area" that I can jump out an escape, I rarely try and do it if I am being swarmed. But I run like crazy when then when they all rush to enter that tank I detonate the C4 I booby trapped it with. Some times I will let someone in my squad booby trap it then let them know when to blow it.

here's another tip. if a tank is coming at you, and he can't seem to 'finish you off,' jump on top of his treads and then his turret. You will be safe from the tank until you can jump over a fence or turn a quick corner when he isn't expecting. Plus, it's hilarious.

Same thing happened to me last night.. I was playing USMC on Strike At Karkand and there was this one member of our team who made a beeline for the tank, used it as a taxi to get to the biggest concentration of enemy troops, then jumped out (without ANY damage!!!) and ran away effectively delivering our tank to the enemy team!

He did this multiple times too, it wasn't a once off

lol one time i had no place to go and there was a tank right next to me (bad guy tank) so i ran up to the tank with medic bag in hand and he actually got out because he thought it was c4 it was awesome ... i then got in the tank and the old driver didn't last for more then a minute after that!

more importantly, dont use attack vehicles if you dont know how to use them to support your team. more to the point, get engineer if you are going to take armor, and use it for support, not assault.
