Look two feet to the either side of the monitor and you will see (not sure that realize) that the thing you were looking at for past few (or more) hours is only a flat digital device for displaying colorful dots. Nothing more.
I also wonder about those married people that wrote here that their wives say they play too much, but they don't care because it's THE Battlefield2. You have kids, you have wives. But you still play BF2 every evening. That only shows the distibution of priorities in your lives...
I, personally, had enough of this game a long time ago. To be more accurate - I got sick of it. Sick of playing online with super-dooper-professionals, getting killed 10 seconds after respawning. (Of course you might say that I'm a n00b but that's not true). As I will always say "I play to entertain myself, not to impair my health".
Actually I always got bored playing computer games because the program never changed, but now that I play real ppl I am hooked, I feel the game is forever evolving because real ppl come @ you w/ new tactics everyday

& I have great friends on TS

OK... I've heard some very interesting opinions but I feel that a few things were missed...

I work on a Tech Support Help Desk and I have a good deal of free time at work - Thats when I posted this message - It wasn't time I could have been "improving my game" nor was it wasted time as I was already at work surfing the forums... not much else I could have been doing.

As someone pointed out before, a great deal of you are completely missing the point... I am not knocking on people who are amazingly good at the game... i.e. - there's no envy involved. A lot of you responded without fully reading or comprehending my entire post. My post was purely talking about people with programs like Xfire that track their hours played and have signatures saying they've played like 34 hours in the last week, etc. A LOT of you have been firing back with, "I only play 1.5 hours a week on average and I'm a LT or COL... " I wasn't saying you have a problem... you're really good at the game. I'm talking about people who have sigs saying they play 30+ hours a week. But a lot of you wouldn't realize I said that because you automatically jumped to the conclusion I was knocking on your 1337-ness. I wasn't.

Also, someone quoted me as saying that high-ranked people were "pimply nerds"... I don't recall saying that at all...

In the future, it is advised that you read someone's entire post, and for some of you to give it at least 20 mins for your brain to process the information, before responding because when you sharply fire back about something I never even mentioned, you sound like a moron.

      Just FYI.

Its true tho I have to say, after about 500+ hours you sorta always score high and the last few ranks fly by. After that last unlock the joy of ranking up sort of weres off. Ive spiced it up by totaly refusing to use the PKM, which I whored it up with... trying to have at least 100 hours with each class and gun. Still tryign to avoid Kark, but its hard to break the blitz of infantry mixed with the scripted tactics, always a rush..and saying "ok Im home 1 round of kark to warm up then off to "insert map"
20 rounds later and 2 hours and you forgot to switch maps.
I tend to play only Kark since I'm best at infantry combat and I really suck at flying helis and planes.

But I'm not a pointwhore medic, you won't see me dive in front of a tank to revive someone just to get those 2 points, just for us both to die. Although I'm guilty of using other players as bait, I'll revive someone that was just killed so the person will pay more attention to them while I shoot at them unexpectedly. And as you can see from my stats most of my points come from combat. Medic ftw!

Ugh... why are you guys missing my point??

KHAN... you have played a game that has been out for 2 years = 104 weeks for a grand total of only 32 days = 768 hrs. Translated: 768 hrs / 104 weeks = 7.38 hrs/week... I'M NOT TALKING ABOUT YOU... lol...

                KHAN = 7.38 hrs/week
                PEOPLE I'M TALKING ABOUT = 30+ hrs/week

Again... why aren't you all reading what I wrote?

Here is why I'm 2nd Lt.

I am having a background police check on me before heading into the police academy...which takes quite some time. In the meantime, while I wait for a phone call to clear me for my psyc/med exam, I workout and play BattleField 2.

                          :P

Re: My thoughts on some of you "top brass" players...

There are many reasons why people play video games, and
many of them have been expressed here.

I'm retired so obviously have as much time to play as I need.

However it's totally wrong to start telling people to 'get a life'
when you never know the circumstances behind someone spending
what may seem all their life playing.

I remember playing Joint Ops on my particular favourite server
(substitute BF2 or whatever) and one guy was always on day or
                            night whenever I logged on.

He owned me bad one time and in my frustration I told him ffs get
a life, to which he replied he'd love to only he couldn't as he was
                            wheelchair bound. Oops.

I did of course apologise, but I've never used that phrase since
during online gaming. Man, did I feel rotten.

I'm a point whore and try to be a good team player. I play in the evenings as there's not much good on TV and its way better then drugs and alcohol IMO
