BF2142 will kill BF2, especially since EA/Dice can't get a patch out in a timely fashion.

i think at least 50 - 75% of the BF2 population will move to 2142.

I hope 2142 will be the ultimate 10 year old/asshat magnet. Futuristic combat won't do it for me, I'll be playin BF2/mods until something else attracts my attention.

I think that BF2142 will be the better game gameplay-wise.

Just head on over to totalbf2142 and if you knew a lot about the game, you wouldn't have all of these silly preconceptions about the mechs and Titans ruling over everything else.

Infantry combat will be much improved and interesting in 2142.

No more jets mean that you won't have the whores that we do now.

From what we've seen so far, everything seems to be even more finely balanced than it is in BF2.

I will still continue playing both, but I will play BF2142 more, because to me it looks like more fun

We'll wait and see, as both the 1.4 patch for BF2 and the BETA for 2142 should be out within a week.

I think that if Dice/Ea really enforces the team work aspect and comes up with good game in 2142 and fixs some serious issues in these patches, then Bf2 will become like the other previous installments into the series, loved and played often for fun.
With that said I am personally welcoming 2142 with open arms because I believe that it will a great game and that it will fun to play competevily, please for give the spelling, for leagues like Cal and TWL.
I also look forward to its ability to make your solider more custamizable to your needs and beable to have a solid well defined role to your teammates.

One could hope that BF2142 will be the place where DICE redeems itself - design-wise. Hopefully the worst design-decisions of BF2 will be corrected in BF2142.

If that is the case, the effect of BF2142 will probably divide the player-community. the stat-junkies of BF2 will stay with BF2 and the more mature crowd may gravitate towards BF2142.

However, Quake Wars may have more of an impact on both games...

i think futuristic combat gravitates people of a younger age (8-12) and modern combat attracts millitary people and war vets generaly over the age of 18 so the way i see it the immature people will go to bf2142 and quake wars while the mature people will stick with vannila or get teh new total conversion mods.

also ea says if you pre order bf2142 they will give you a higher rank. i think that will attack those who only care about stats.

i think ill get PoE2 because its modern combat i probably wont get FH2 since WW2 games are not new while a mod that foccuses on a moderen war has not been done alot.

FH2 forever. I dont give 2 ****s how 2142 affects BF2 Vanilla. I am hoping that people will be around to play the mods. POE, Dcon, FH2, USI, PRMM, Sandbox, etc.

i think it's the other way around. most stat junkies already got their ranks/unlocks/medals etc... and looking forward to play a new game (even though it's a mod) to test the new shiny vehicles, weapons and get their stats.

im starting to have doubts about bf2142...just all the big walkers and titans and everything will just overpower the tanks...ill try the demo if it comes out, but i like bf2 cuz is modernish
