I bought the G15 as soon as it came out in HK as i had just built a new computer (see sig) and i liked the look, the LCD and programmable keys. The first game that i bought was BF2. It was some time before i could be bothered to try and make some macros. First up i tried to make macros so i could team chat "sorry" or whatever instead of fumbling with the command rose. I never managed to get it to work properly (at the time i didnt realise u had to add time delays to the key presses in order for BF2 to accept it). Then i tried to macro seat switching and firing the TV in the helo. I tried about 5 different ways, from adding time delays between presses to recording the macro "live". Nothing worked right. Either it was way too slow or the key presses seemed to come in the wrong order (like it would fire the hellfires because F2 and right click didnt register) The macro is simply F2, right click, left click. To cut an already long story short the G15 (while still a great KB) is not the cheating device it is made out to be in some threads on here .Solo helo is much quicker, easier and more reliable the regular way. For those that have sussed out if/how to get BF2 to like the G15, what is the secret?? Sorry to drag on

The keyboard in and of itself is not a device for cheating. I think everyone knows that to be a well established fact at this point. The problem is that some gamers have the ethical standards of a jock strap, and they just so happen to use that board as their "tool of choice".

Yeah but it just doesnt work well for BF2.....even when i allow .5 sec delays between keypresses. The LCD rocks though, with the BF2 applet.Comment

When you have RDVOLX running around people will think its a cheating device, and why use macros with the solo chopper? I bet I could still take you out even with you using your macros.Comment

I think u misread.........i find using the normal method for solo to be better. I just tried to experiment with macros after reading on these forums that G15 macros were supposed to be brilliant. I tried to replicate to see if it was true. My findings....THE G15 WHILE A GOOD KEYBOARD, DOES NOT MAKE YOU EVEN A REASONABLE SOLO PILOT. Haha well you surely are right I also got a G15 and I use two macro's one for the command rose to spot and one for Auto make a squad though Home - Insert - Home isn't hard but it's faster and I use it for firefox and for posting :) And the LCD Really rocks especially with the BF2 LCD

It's fairly simple to get most of those macros to work. It's just a manner of tweaking the macro until you find the best possible delay.
IMHO, however, it's useless considering how far away the G-Keys are from the WASD keys, that's why I only use mine for comma-rose and chat.Comment
