    "Problem with your connection"...no more!

    Updated Instructions:
This is for the "Lost connection to server" problem not CTD.
    1. Right when you see the "Problem with your connection" message press escape
    2. Click on the BFHQ tab and stay on that screen for 1-5 seconds after it loads your stats.
    3. Click on the multiplayer tab and stay on that screen for 1-5 seconds as well.
    4. Hit 'esc' key to rejoin the game.

LOL! Anything is worth a shot I suppose. I really don't have that load a map crash problem as much as the first time I installed the full 1.3 patch.

I've honestly heard that it's the corrupt versions of the patches that are causing server crashes. But like Rev said, anything is worth a shot  .

very strange...dont see the logic but ill give it a go if i ever get this error

(plus whenever i get this error, like 88% of the rest of the ppl in the server get disconnected..strange)

I tried this 5 times last night and it didn't work once. I clicked ESC when the message appeared, clicked BFHQ and waited 5 secs, clicked MULTIPLAYER and waited 5 secs, then hit ESC. The message was still waiting for me and then it just lost the connection

When I rejoined, the server went from 64 players to 7.

There is another solution, yet it does not solve all the cases, so I guess AntiNinja's trick completes mine:

Join a server, prefereably ranked one, and must be with punkbuster on.
Play till someone kills you, and respawn in a safe place.
Open up the console, and write:
                    pb_sleep 500
after you see a message telling you the checks have been changed from 20 to 500, write:
                    pb_writecfg
                    to save your settings.

NOTE: Don't try setting above 500. This is the maximum.

This trick solved me the connection problem, and reduces the number of lags.

And if you use a dual-core processor, right before you enter a game, go to Task Manager, right click on BF2.exe->set affinity->uncheck CPU 1.

The PB trick works for almost all of the connection problem, but sometimes you will get the error, then use AN's trick.

                    Thanks ninja!

Try unpluging your pc from the mains electricity supply.
                      AND LEAVE IT OF.

                      Just pulling your flex!
Maybe worked for you but not me.

Have you ever been tying something in the chat on the server when it does this, you get stuck and can't do esc.

Don't work if the server crashes...which is most of the time. May deal with client side issues, but if the server crashes, it crashes for everyone.
