    Last time I checked...

    • When a Swat team enters an area they don't all drop to the floor prone.
    • Aircraft don't float around in plain sight at low speed without being quickly shot down.
    • Artillery is never used in areas with friendly troops. Israel won't drop arty in an area their ground troops are engaged in.

Everything can't be modelled realistically. But, reality should be used unless you have a good reason it can't. The best parts of BF2 are the most real parts and the worst parts are the most unreal. Sure, everything can't or shouldn't be made realistically. But, realism is awesome and you really should have a very good reason to stray away from it with games like BF2. Don't you think?

P.S. I haven't heard anyone being excited about the reduced damage option in 1.4. Making things less real doesn't seem to be a popular design choice.

Well its just a game, it doesent have to be every detail to the real world, want the real world, get off the PC and join the army, but you cant fix players who are acting stupid, because a death to a player in a video game doesent mean actual death to a persons life. So people make the stupidest mistakes not found in the real world. There are noobs in every game and we were all once noobs so it doesent have to be as realistic as possible.

i think it should be a little more realistic i find it annoying that people can dodge bullets by jumping 6 ft in the air.

Yea. I think we should all just forget the jump and sprint all together. Maybe
we could all just mope around, walk slowly with out heads down and be easy targets for every one...

i agree....realism is good.....if things where mor realistic, they wouldnt have had to nerf stupid things like jumping and shooting, prone spamming, dolphin diving, etc....

TBH, I don't know what you are on. This is BF, let me spell that out for you, B-A-T-T-L-E-F-I-E-L-D. It is dumbed down so everyone could enjoy it on a basic level. You want to get overly complex, there are a million titles out there gathering dust for you to try. People rip DiCE for armor this, helos that...well, CS and Quake kids don't realize DiCE has a magic about keeping things so you don't have to have four people to drive a tank...or 20 minutes to rearm your helo, or there would be wind variables you would have to calculate in when sniping, having one shoulder fired missle to destroy a single tank, people dying the second they get shot (without three rounds to the face like now)..I could go on and on...

It is designed to have quick fun with a decent learning curve.

Remember that! It was engineered to be easy and simple!

wrong its a happy mix between the two any thing thats realistic and still can be made fun should be considered, including the things he mentioned.

theres a difference between speed and unrewarding gameplay.

really peoples problems arent with realism, its with robust and skilled gameplay.

i definitly agree with this one, a fire delay is needed when dropping to the ground, why? because as is, the games prone is just like cs's duck, the answer to everything in every battle. which is a stale and unrewarding gameplay.

i agree, cannon based aa is ridiculously under effective.

not sure how this one would work or if it would at all, theres plenty of occasions i want a broken arrow situation.

you make a damn good point, but if you look at the things he brought up, none of these things detract from that simplicity.

If you're looking for realism don't play BF2. Go play Ghost Recon which is slightly more realistic. But you can't expect a game to be 100% realistic especially one like BF2 which isn't even supposed to be realistic. Even if there was a super realistic game people would still complain it wasn't realistic because they couldn't feel pain. I don't like people who play like this "Geez that prone spamming isn't realistic. Now when do I get tor respawn?"

In rea life you think the MEC would actually stand a chance against the USMC using outdated Russian equipment?

Really though, I don't see why people say its "arcade" what does that mean these days?
