So now I have to pay to play the BETA?

Thats it, I am officially NEVER buying 2142. Bf2 is still broken and they are making another money grab, the game will probably suck, and within a year bf3 will be out anyway.

Fileplanet members get it first, nothing new there...dont panic...I bet every current BF2 account holder is going to get a 2142 beta invitation...

Your choice. Money is what keeps EA/DICE employees from going to bed with empty stomachs, so yeah, I can see them trying to raise some cash. I can also see them doing this for current paying members as a form of a "Thank You for Your Support" deals. Kind of like SubWay giving you that 13th sub for free after you pay for the first twelve and actually keep up with the little card with the holes punched in it.

I’m encouraged by this news as it means only the ardent Battlefield fan will most likely be included in the open beta, especially if they give out keys to people actively playing BF2, also there will probably be a limited number of beta servers to play on so this should help make it a little easier to get on one.

So your saying that after we've bought all the other EA/Dice games and had to go throught their crap and buying the little booster packs which are $10 for 2 maps, well get 2142 for free? 2142 is kinda like the 13 punch in the card that is dice's card of suck
