    Engie idea?

Hey guys, do you think this would make the engineer class more popular?

They get C4 + the ability to repair like normal, and its twice as easy to get repair points (Half repair = 1 point).

Instead of the Spec Ops getting C4 they now get the laser detonator, the ability to ‘paint’ tanks/APC’s so that plane fly’s over and bombs them.

Well what if they would get points for removing clays? And faster repair points?

thats ability was ingame before release, they took it out because they couldnt get the code to work right ingame. So what makes you think they can get it working now.

Because I know EA/DICE are good coders and have never introduced any bugs EVER.

would be better if engie gets faster repair points and gets points for doing other things too

Your idea is bad and flawed. It throws too much into an engineer's hand and then strips the Special Ops of any value.

            Then comes the question. :shakehead

What's the point of having a laser designator on say Karkand, Mashtuur City, Sharqi Peninsula, or Songhua Stalemate?

Are Special Ops supposed to run around with a useless tool?

There's a point what I think what should be possible is that engi's get 2 Points for removing Clays etc. and faster repair points.

I ment a AI controlled plane bombs the target, not a human player.

I think giving the engie 2 points per repair would be better, but that's been disscussed X amount of times.

i agree, even on maps that do have planes im guessin 95% of pilots arnt going to drop bombs on the tank, nor would they care. i know i wouldent. pilots have there own agenda. i think thats pretty obvious. and it would get pointless driving any tanks or anything because you would just get killed straight away because the AI plane wouldent miss, and if it did miss the spec ops would become the unpopular one.in conclusion the classes should stay the way they are. mabye a few tweaks in some but lets not get into that.

creative thinking. but its not going to work

Everyone already has the ability to spot targets for planes.

                      Re: Engie idea?

Giving Engineers C4 would make Spec-Ops almost useless.

Instead, allow the Wrench to damage/destroy assets as well as repair them. Left-click to repair, right-click to damage. Damage/destroy should be done at the same rate as repairing. In this way, they could destroy enemy assets and destroy bridges that might be useful to the enemy, serving a dual-role.

Also give them ability to disable claymores and mines (I'm not sure if this is already a feature, as I haven't played as Engineer in a very long time).

Of course, this gives rise to the possibility of stat-padding, so to counter that, make it so that Engineers cannot gain points for repairing something they've just damaged, or something they've damaged in the last x minutes (eg. 5 mins).

Spec-Ops would still be useful, since they can destroy stuff much faster and has superior direct combat potential.

PS. I agree on having more points for repairs.

I like the wrench doing damage with the right mouse button...I'm a big engi and would love that option.

And yes, you already can remove a claymore and mines with the magical wrench.

I play a lot of engi, and I don't think this would solve their problem. It takes a certain type of person to run around, without armor on, and try to fight with a questionable weapon. Ya, you can say spec-ops has little armor too, but they pack a more consistant weapon.

I think Engineers could get a nice boost in players by bumping the repair points, but TBH, there is not a lot of stuff to always repair.

I know that but in this game you get points for doing good things.. Kills, Repairs, Heals & Resupplies so what if a Engineer gets points for removing claymores from the battlefield? (Or is this already in the game I don't play Engi. that much..)

I don't understand why because it works in BF modren combat for xbox and its pretty cool
