I am not sure if DiCE gets a kickback of somekind from Fileplanet. It might be nice to support them, but, in my mind, I could still wait a few more weeks for the general population release. I am not really dying to get my hands on it.

seeing as how bf2 uses gamespy, and gamespy and fileplanet are part of the same network, i wouldn't be surprised.

I wouldnt worry too much about it, at first it may be for subscribers only, but after a week or so, the public one should be out.

I just tried with my gamespy account and it did not let me in without paying. So, I guess you will have to "pay-to-play" the beta also. Not to rip open-up old wounds, but I recall people saying they though when BF2 was released, the Gold version was still a beta. :evil:

I'm not all that excited about it, I'm more of a modern shooter kind of guy... If this comes out for open beta I'll probably try it out, but the idea of the mechs seems somewhat unbalanced in the game to me...

This is just like the BF2 demo. Remember was it pay XXX amount (was it Gamespy?) and get it a day earlier or w/e? Turns out we all got it at about the same time....
