    Unusual Ping Spikes.

Since the 1.3 Patch I have been receiving alot of ping spikes every few minutes. At first I thought it was my ISP (bellsouth DSL 3mb), but I just changed it (comcast 8mb) and I'm still receiving the same problem. When it does spike it goes to about 1000 from 30-60. WTF is going on? Could it be my firewall or virus software? Because I do not think many people are receiving the same problem as I am. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    IWAG

    IWAG,

I am having the same lag (rubberband lag) problem, and have tried everything EA suggested. This just started happening to me recently (maybe about a month ago) and before this everything was running great. I tried the BF2 settings first, and dropped all the video settings down to low quality, and no soup. I thought it might be time to reinstall windows, so I did. I reinstalled all the typical stuff - AV, Anti-spyware, patches, the whole nine. Anyways, long story short, reinstalled BF2, no luck. I even looked at my CAT5 cables, and swaped those out, thinking it might be that. The wife plays also, and she has no lag whats so ever. I am stumped, and like you, I would appreciate any help.

    Thanks,
    Phrog

Do you guys have any wireless devices on your network? Maybe an IM software in the background? Those things can screw with your network.
