Not sure how common this is, but I've been reading the forums for a couple months and haven't seen a thread. The last two weeks I've had four times where I joined a game, played for a few minutes, and got a basic award that I already earned several months ago. So I click tab and it says I'm a private. This only bothers me when I would have gotten an award that I'm shooting for and I hit the in-round requirement (i.e. expert explosives).
Does this happen often to anyone else? When I change servers my rank is back to where it should be (gunnery sargeant).
Also, the last time it happened, my computer froze and I had to reboot. When I started up BF2, my login name was blank where you choose an account and click the login button. Blank. I tried to login anyway, thinking it was a small glitch, and it let me, but then wouldn't load any servers in the multiplayer screen. I logged out, and retrieved my account (the blank one is still there), but lost all of my settings (no big deal), however now when I play I get all the damn tutorial messages (i.e. "press the forward and backward key to move forward and backward" - thanks).
I know the last paragraph is probably something that doesn't happen very often and isn't a big deal, however I just wondered how common it is for people to join a server only to find that they're temporarily a private all over again.
