Unfortunately it's just the game.
Everyone experiences the same.
Actually I've quite a close setup to yours, and still get frequent crashes, ctds.
Nice oc on the AMD

Its because of the new engine. BF2 is the first of its kind for EA, BF2142 being the second. With a new engine, comes new problems. Its almost as if BF2 is a EA/Dice experient in online gaming. With 2,050,000 copies sold, u can expect EA to use this same engine in the future for even more money grabbing. Other games arent as unstable because the company producing them probably new what they were dealing with. Thats what happened with BF1942 and BFV.

Thanks I'm getting a phase change soon, and hoping I can hit 3.8 or more.

How long have you been playing? If you just joined in the last couple months, we have really started on the downward spiral a couple patches ago, and then it just got worse at the end of May with 1.3.

BF2, with the glory it has, got rushed out the door by EA's behest. As a result, we all experience problems that could have been addressed before it went gold. It was released 6 months to soon.

Started playing about 2 weeks ago. After more then 7 years of The Orignal Counter Strike.

This is freakin' bulls**t. I though hey what the hell, i will play a little BF2 tonight after not playing bercause of this dang 1.3 patch. Its too frustrating to play. I get network issue errors almost every 5 minutes. Thanks EA for taking my $50 and dry humping me.

Is their any other game like this out? CS:S is boring to me./////

:shakehead Sorry man, you came in at our darkest hour! The game has really been on a slide for the last several months, but there is still light at the end of the tunnel, if 1.4 ever gets out the door to fix the server net code and the client CTDs.

I hope you stick around, because BF2 is still a great game.

bf2 is a awesome game,i luv it, the ranking system, weapon unlocks, medals, ribbons etc. keeps it alive for me. you shoulda been there when it first came out. gopsh you wouldeve been lucky for the login screen to come up. it has come a long way from there but still has alot of bugs that seems to get more frustrating with each patch i.e. THE BH fk all armor, and the miniguns couldent kill f all....so frustrating to be a pilot. i think ive gone complety of topic..I DONT EVEN REMEMBER WHAT THE TOPIC IS.meh well there my thoughts.

BF2 is the worst written code I have ever seen..

eye candy means nothing.. stability and game play mean everything.

BF2 gets a F in both of those departments..

Ive been gaming since 79'.. before the internet, before bitnet, before
color monitors.. I have purchased hundreds and hundreds of games..
NEVER have I seen one so patheticly written.

Is this a common bug?

When I use "Play BF2 Online" it can never access my account.

I have to use "Play BF2" inorder to connect to account server, then when I try to connect to a game it restarts BF2 into im assuming the "Online" game.

PS: Same with Special Forces.

2nd problem.

My connection, Im running on 10 down 5 up which is really nice and I pay for it, but I am getting a ton of connection problems and its laggin me big time, I jump from 40 to 300 in a second then back, making it almost unplayable. I think it might me be my erroe but Source and Quake 4 dont lag..

It's probably just too complex for the team that has been assigned to support it.

The original developers fulfilled their contractual obligations by getting a sign off on 1.0 or 1.1, and then moved on to a new project. Probably 2142 or something even further down the road.

Meanwhile, junior-level developers got stuck with mile-high piles of QC sheets, and started mucking around with code they didn't really understand, the results of which we have seen and suffered through with the patches and patch-patches culminating in this atrocity called 1.3.

The junior-level devs sent out distress signals, because they knew they were in way over their heads, which is why one of the strats they're following is to rope the community into helping them beta the 1.4 patch.

if we're all lucky, I mean really really lucky, somebody at EA decided to spend $50K and they brought the original devs back in to sort out the mess before 1.4 releases. If we're lucky.

Which we haven't been so far...

everything works for me. cept source....steam just flat out doesnt like me. shell start from 500 then if i dont get kicked work er' way up to the 999 ping mark. which is pretty awesome to play with let me tell you.
