Is this some sort of hack?

Today I came across these few players,

On Sharqi Peninsula there was a guy in the Mec chopper high up in the sky, his gunner was following every single move I did with my chopper (I was facing them and saw the bullets flying at me) I could not see him but he was following every single move we did in our chopper.

Then later, this dude was sitting in a vodnik at his Mec base (same map) and was shooting at the TV station, I'm not too sure but think he shot me a few times while I was waiting for the chopper (someone did, but from the same direction) so I thought I'd test it and went to his direction and sure enough, I couldn't see him (he was where the mec chopper spawns, right at the back) and I went left and right and so on and he was following every single move I did with my chopper but I could not see him all through all the fog.

I've checked master ban list and neither of their names are on it.

It surely must be a no-fog hack?

there was a video on youtube with a guy doing this, im pretty sure it was a hack

Could be a hack, could be a bigger screen than yours with view distance of 100%, could be the guy knows people always sit on top of the TV tower waiting for the chopper so he sprayed indiscriminantly. I just tried it, and I can get kills from down there, on populated maps there are usually 2-3 guys waiting for choppers at all times. Maybe change your strategy?

A bigger screen makes no difference when it comes to view distance. I have my view distance maxed, and I sometimes play on my 52" monitor at 1920 × 1080. I have also had people shoot me from outside the normal view distance. Usually, I chalk it up to luck. When I get sniped multiple times by an M95 outside the UAV distance on Karkand, I get suspicious.

mayby it wos me? yea and no fog is easy to do .but you will get ban after admin will look at PB screans

I have also had people shoot me from outside the normal view distance. Usually, I chalk it up to luck. When I get sniped multiple times by an M95 outside the UAV distance on Karkand, I get suspicious.

There's also the fact that you can run your crosshairs over someone outside of your view distance and their name will show up, I've got a few kills that way. Or you can follow tracer fire, I try that all the time too.

yeah i have seen the same thing, some guy was in the usmc chopper by himself hovering really high and was able to hit anything with the tv missle. his score was like 90 - 0.

Just like alot of people with scores like that its more then likely a Hack. Came across a guy shooting at rox across the map and hitting people. Id like to see someone without a hack try to do that.

in my my whole gaming experience with bf2 i havent come across 1 hack am i lucky? cause in CSS its quite common. but i have no idea how many people hack in bf2.

DaRqUe? Your in the exact same case as me.. I have never seen a 'hacker' but most people in our server always say hacker blabla when I like shoot a chopper with the tank what I love to do.. Immediately they call you hacker etc.

But it sure is weird I've had this on Karkand some guy was at the Square rooftop and was shooting down people way further than Hotel.. But someone else also made a thread he had probs with his Vid.Card. that caused no fog..

I've too have never seen anything that I would call an obvious hack.

I've been suspicous a couple of times - like the pilot that always seems to know exactly where you are, even when you're in the most unobvious of places. Was he hacking - maybe, but I don't have proof.

I haven't come across any obvious attempt at hacking in BF2 so far. Compared to CS and CoD, etc., it seems very good at thwarting hackers.

There are glitch exploits, but that seems to be the extent of cheating in BF2.

I think that the gameplay has a very random feel to it, so when a hacker comes along, we easily dismiss it as luck... Bullet spray is very random, I hate the "Cone of fire" system personally...

Some days I feel like *I* might be cheating and sometimes I feel like I just got the game yesterday and can't hit the broad side of a barn...
