The RPK is great for short to mid range firefightszoomed or unzoomed. The PKM is decent unzoomed at short to mid range and very accurate at long range zoomed shooting 1-2 shot round bursts. Now the mg36 is similar to the RPK but less powerfull but shoots rounds off faster and the 3 round burst can be good at long range once you get a handle on it.

overall I don't really have a favorite it depends on the map the only gun I try to stay away from is the SAW its horrificly unacurate the only time its usefull is at very close range when you can just pray and spray

RPK is the best support gun imo, deals a fair bit of damage and is fairly accurate. The SAW is not a bad weapon once you get the hang of it too. but out of PKM and MG36, it has to be the MG36, i find PKM odd, sometimes i can mow down whole squads, yet other times i can hit a barn if it was 5 feet away (most likely me though)

The RPK is better for close rnage, and the Mg36 is better for midr range, but the PKM is best overall. It is also more powerful than Mg36... and it has a nice deviation!

I have to disagree. I love the SAW when you use short bursts. Its RoF makes it better for shooting off 3-5 bullet bursts than the PKM.

But if I had to choose between the RPK and the others, I choose the RPK.

Dudes need to know the "secret" of the SAW, you have to hold the front post sight a lil' low

The RPK is by far the best support weapon much like the AK is the best
assault rifle. It's close to the PKM in damage but has better accuracy and
you can fire from standing and crouched position. I haven't used the PKM or
the MG36 in a long time as MEC.

RPK. very accurate even in full-auto, and almost as strong as the PKM.

PKM's the strongest, it's an argument over whether the MG36 or the RPK-74 is the most accurate and the M249 and the Type 95 act pretty much in the same way (the SAW has twice the capacity though). My personal favourite's the PKM but I'll use any one happily.

Just experiment with each to match your own style.

I have to agree, since 1.3 this is the ONLY support gun I seem to get killed by over and over.

I like the SAW but its so inaccurate, I use the PKM the most.

RPK or if i am on chinese/mec i use mg36. The rpk is really a modified ak-47 rifle, hence why it is so good. You can take out whole squads with it, snipe people at very far ranges, and take down guys with 2 shots close range.

:edit: Oh, and don't zoom. I find that it has better accuracy unzoomed. Well, according to the numbers, it is.

The zoom modifier is 1.0; that means there is no change to the deviation when zoomed. Zooming with the MGs just gives you magnification and reduced recoil.

I like the SAW for the large mag and the high rate of damage. When I'm China or MEC I use the PKM. The RPK has no advantage over the SAW except maximum per shot deviation (after 11 rounds fired continuously), reload time (but the SAW needs to reload less often), and the ability to kill with a single headshot. SAW does more damage per second and has lower deviation standing, crouching, and prone. Unfortunately I rarely play support anymore since everyone else seems to be; I'm frequently in squads with no medics and no AT people so I end up jumping back and forth between those two.
