    Sniper - remap weapon fire

I’ve added a mapped fire weapon key (mouse left click, I’m a right handed mouse user) to the left hand (on my keyboard). I find it easier to track the target with my right hand and “pull the trigger” with my left.
Maybe it’s just me? And I’ve got a gammy right hand?
I've only done this recently but have found it helps with accuracy on longer range shots. And all the people I’ve missed would know I need all the help I can get

Some people do this because for some reason when their about to fire they shake the mouse when they click, which messed up their aim.

It's logical, it's called muscle memory. Keep your hand still, focus on something else, and try to move ONLY your index finger(or even better, middle finger) in a clicking movement (without the mouse in your hand that is). Do this 5 times, then look at your other fingers. They will be moving along with the index a bit. That happens with a mouse too. Unless you've got an ubertrained hand, mapping the fire button to keyboard is a pretty good thing to do.

Used to have this problem as well.I started anchoring my thumb and pinky finger on the mouse pad just b4 firing.Helps when needing to tweak your aim a tad.

I have a Logitech G5 laser mouse with adjustable weights. I have almost 20g of additional weight in the base which minimises unwanted movement and gives the mouse a 'feel' which I prefer.

Turning down the sensitivity also eliminates unwanted mouse movement.
I play with 0.3 with a Logitech G5 mouse set on the medium resolution and without mouse acceleration in windows.

I have been using this extra key for months now and it works like a charm whenever you are not in a firefight up close that is :)

Lucky for me was that I bought the Logitech MX3100 set which has a shortened Shift key on the left with an extra / key (right side) next to it :)

I would suggest mapping it to a key like "t" or "y" so it would be in reach of your left hand

                    Trackball ftw!

I actually have mouse1 and F both bound to fire. It's easier to fire single shots off faster with 2 keys instead of *click click click* with your finger

interesting idea but, wouldn't it make it a lot harder to strafe and fire? Unless your one of the proners out there (including snipers) I can't really see this helping me, unless maybe it was F, then I suppose I might be ablle to do it.

Re: Sniper - remap weapon fire

Practise, Practise, Practise. A good sniper has nerves of steal and a very steady hand and trigger finger. A weighted mouse will help some of the minor movements, but the biggest help is turning down your mouse sensitivity!!

If you play a sniper class it is different from any other class. Turn your settings way down. The slightest glitch or movement will waste your shot and you lost your kill.

On some mice, just clicking the left mouse button is enough to move your crosshair, even if no other fingers move. For those of you with 1600dpi and 200dpi mice, to air blowing across your mouse pad can move your crosshairs...lol.

Just turn down your sensitivity settings and you should notice a big difference in your accuracy and kill ratio!!

                            Good luck snippin.
