EA- Patches for BF2
1.12- Everything fine, Very few bugs
1.20-Things start to go downhill, Alot of bugs
1.21- fixes two bugs or so, still going downhill
1.22- Fixes 1 bug, going faster down hill
1.30- unplayable

Something tells me BF2 was incomplete when they released it.

I think the statement that BF2 was an unfinished product is a fair one. But this happens and we all know that patching is a way of life. But two things i think are completely wrong with this picture.

1.) What i guess can only be a description of naive incompetence or deliberate negligence on Dice's part, but seriously, this is got to be one of the worst examples of software (gaming in particular) to be on record.
As Posh states, "9 patches, 10 with 1.4 and it will be 500MB" And this with the expectation 1.4 gets it completely right. Which it won't. They stated the j-10 f-35 issue will receive no attention, in fact, nothing but this useless Infantry mode will get attention past the ctp and server crash issues.
My summation: Dice really are divorced from the community, or believe whom they are in touch with represents the real community view. Which they most certainly do not.

2:) The apathetic view from the BF2 community. Sure, I've read the rants on the forums, poor English, no reasonable point of view, wild speculation or just pure ambivalence. Remarks like, "Should just leave 1.3 alone" just speak volumes of the stupidity of some people.
My summation: That the BF2 community is so reserved is the reason why DICE serves up crap and calls it steak.


I am some one who before BF2 was a short term single player gamer. BF2 changed that. Because the game demands so much from me in order to for fill the intensive scoring needed to rank, i feel it very much should be held to a higher standard.

Release date isn't the question.
The Question: Is DICE capable of producing a completed game in BF2?

1. The Account server is taking for ever to log into.
2. Bf2s and aparently another site went down.

Yeah, it took me 15 minutes to recover my account (after I deleted it, thought that was the problem). That was sick, I hope they're hurrying up with it. I can live with all the bugs, since I mostly play with people I know over a VPN so connection errors are no big deal. I've gotten used to the dudes inside hotel, and the cartillery and everything. I do want to try the inf only mode though, and the new map I like. If they fix some bugs along with it, good work. And about time too, but honestly, some people talk about it as if they sit around 24 hours a day, watching their monitor for the patch to appear. To those I say ... there are other things in life than bf2.
Heck, go play another game if you have to. If you don't like 1.3, too bad .. you're not the only one. But we've seen enough threads about that.

I am not going to even quess when the 1.4 is out because of DICE's world record in game bugs. I just wonder that it would have been smarter to publish a game with ten times less of bugs! For example Half-Life 2 is very big or even bigger game than BF2 and it was very bug free when published. And yes, I know that making of HL2 took about 5 years but it is a shame that DICE makes its games with rush in just few crappy years.

I think it is not even possible to make BF2 bug free or get the amount of major bugs under 10 .

Had to revert back to 1.3 yesterday as my "anti tank" rockets where just going through tanks and everything...plus there is only a few available servers!

EA is the puublisher and they put ALLOT of pressure on game makers to release their product when EA wants to!!! Not when the game makers wants. The publishers are usually the reason why most games are released before they are truly ready.

How the 1.3 patch makes the game unplayable???

The smacktard behavior and attitude of a lot of BF2 player makes the game far more unplayable than any patch from Dice, if you ask me.
