Hi, i was just wondering if anyone plays battlefield 2 using just the keyboard and mouse (as apposed to using pad/stick when flying copter/planes).thanks

Based on the hundreds of posts I have read on the subject for the last year, the general community preference breakdown seems to be as follows:

Infantry/Armor: KB & mouse
"Ace" Chopper Pilots: KB and/or mouse
"Ace" Pilots: Joystick

im a pretty good pilot...well i think so and i much rather prefer the KB. guess im just used to it, though intense dog fights in planes kinda needs a joystick to keep up, but i can take down 2 planes by myself ezy with KB

well soon im gonna have to play with only a keyboard/mouse since the computer im looking to upgrade to wont have a thingy to plug my joystick into. (its onboard sound)

$20 for saitek st290 pro joystick at walmart
plugs into USB port

and to the Original poster
joystick only for jets
for helo = mouse for pitch and roll
"wasd" keys for throttle and yaw (twist)
