The game tends to run like crap when the view distance is up too high. Your machine has to render all that stuff. If you have a beefy machine they you may not notice it as much, but anybody with a mid-range machine or lower would have a rough time with it. So it is unlikely that many maps or mods would go without any fog due to this problem.

Really ? I thought Bf2 solved this issue by giving a modified client error. This was only do-able on "un-pure" servers or am I mistaken ?
Either way, I remember Karkand with No fog, looked great.

Sorry for bumping the post but it doesn't work online does it?? I'm a bit confused on what to do. Where is the file I have to edit?

It will not work online, it will give you a modified content error.

However, if you wish to take the fot away for single player maps etc, then you will to edit the Sky.con which is found (using the Default BF2 Installation path

C:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Levels\[MAP NAME YOU WANT TO EDIT]\Server.zip\Sky.con

oh ok, how do I save the changes, its in a zip file and has errors saving. Sorry for asking so many questions

try saving it (as Sky.con) in

C:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Levels\[MAP NAME YOU WANT TO EDIT]

and then go to the folder, and drag Sky.con into Server.zip, and saying yes, to overwrite

(you may want to make a backup of Server.zip before you do this)

It makes the game have a whole new look, like a cleaner look.
