Crash to desktop problem, any help?

This is the error I get when opening in window mode and crash to desktop. Any ideas?

What are your system specs? In particular what graphics card do you have?

The game crashes after the initro/cutscene plays and then a menu opens up offering me the option of selecting "Single Player" or Multiplayer". After I select "Single Player" the cursor changes to a spinning "2" (loading) then to a black screen for a few seconds (2 max) then kicks to the desktop. It looks as if I never opened the game.

A quick rundown of my computer is as follows:

XPS Gen 4
P3.2Ghz
3GB DDR Ram
3 x 250 GB HD
256MB X850XT Platinum Edition PCI-Express
Audigy 2 ZS Sound Card (SB0358)

I fixed my CTD by deleting by BF2 folder in My Documents. Seems all the shaders are in there. There are other things you could try that are listed in the UK BF2 FAQ (see sticky in support).

I finally got it! It was my LCD TV using a DVI connection I was using as a monitor. I switched out the TV with my 21" Dell CRT and the game is running fine. Thanks for all of the suggestions everyone! I just hope EA provides support for DVI inputs in a future patch so I can play on my 27" Widescreen. I was told by EA email support they don't support DVIs.
