Reinstalling - need info

I am reinstalling BF2 because it keeps sending me back to the desktop.
My question is -- can I just upgrade with the 1.3 patch or do I have to
load previous patches?

Should I install what ever patch(s) are need before installing SF?

BF2
SF
EF
AF
FULL 1.3 patch. (Yes, you can just upgrade, use the Full 1.3 Patch)

tren, I just tried that order and after I downloaded EF and tried to install it gave me an error saying that I needed 1.2???

True. Here is the actual order:

INSTALLATION ORDER:
BF2
SF
FULL 1.3 patch
EF
FULL 1.3 patch
AF

I would reboot after installing each 1.3 full patch as I have seen video errors in the game when patching and running straight up.

AF is ready for the 1.3 patch (it was built on the 1.3 patch), so if you are patched to 1.3 as I listed above, you do not need to reapply it after installing AF.

But, If you have any errors loading some of the game files, then reinstall the full 1.3 patch again as that sorts most problems.

The patch files do not always install correctly the first time and may need to be reapplied.

Thanks all - I used the BF2 - SF - 1.3 and it works just great --- Now if I could just stay alive long enough to really enjoy the game -sigh-
