BTR-90 vs LAV-25

Does anyone else think that the LAV has either stronger armor or a better gun? Seems that whenever the two meet the LAV always wins, and always wins if it can score a hit with an AT missile on the BTR.

Not sure. I can kill LAV25's if I 1. Hit the missile right in the front armor, and 2 don't even worry about overheating if you hit the AT missile. It will die before you overheat, even in the BTR.

LAV-25 has stronger armor, but a slower rate of fire. In a fight, the BTR-90 would lose unless he caught the LAV by suprise.

Yeah I noticed that, I always thought it was the gun is slower, but it packs more punch, so the combo of the TOW missle and the main gun is just better against the BTR-90, but that doesen't matter if the BTR-90 hits the LAV-25 with a TOW right in the dead center of the turret (the gun basically). It does more damage.

Plus, the LAV-25 is faster. Hell, I dont even see how the BTR is better...

I love the MEC APC. In fact, it's the only MEC vehicle I prefer over the U.S & China counterparts. Because of the high ROF, the thing eats infantry for breakfast.

It's not so great against other APC's, but it rocks for spraying areas with lots of guys on the ground.

For infantry killing, the BTR is probably the best. For vehicle fighting, I think the WZ551 wins. Its cannon is slow firing, but quite powerful. I think it's got the most armour of all the APCs, but I may be mistaken. I know it can hold its own against an LAV if they go head-to-head, so either the cannon must be stronger or the armour must be better (or both?).

I'm not actually sure if the 3 apc:s have different amount of armour at all

AT & TOW seem to do exact same amount of damage vs. them all .. the cannons have different power / fire rate / overheat time - if armour is same, differences in cannons would make btr weakest and wz strongest in apc vs apc combat.

I love the WZ551's crosshair though . I'd say I prefer the LAV over the BTR, it's just better and has a better feel. The BTR has the same crosshair as the SVD, and it's ugly and hard to aim with

I find the LAV packs a mroe powerful cannon as i cant remember beating a LAV in a btr vs lav fight for ages

The WZ has the most armor out of all the APC's, but it is the slowest.

BRT-90 all the way.

The reason is simple.

APC versus APC is a pretty fair match up (I have no problem killing an LAV with a BRT) but this kind of an encounter is uncommon.

APCs mainly kill infantry and the BRT-90 excels at that task. The LAV cannon is slow and kills infantry with 1 direct shot. The BRT-90 cannon is fast and still kills infantry with 1 direct shot. The splash damage also seems to be a little more dependable for fragging infantry on the BRT-90 as well.

lav is the smallest, while wz551 is the tallest.

btr has the advantage of front mounted turret, lav is at disadvantage as it has to present you almost entire body to engage you with his rear mounted turret

wz is shortest of them all, has middle placed turret, but as it is the tallest it has problems engaging nearby infantry, and its cannon has low ROF.

i have no problem winning apc vs apc fights in any configuration. outcome depends [given both of us hit their AT shots] on how good you are in evading incoming cannon fire. not shooting, but evading it. if you can make his gun overheat and dont hit you too many times youve won. always.
