    1. Classes

Medic- Medic is a good base kit. With solid rifles, healing abilities, and revival opportunities they are superb for “rambo” style or subtler support and backup. Effective in city maps and close range environments points are easy to come by. Seeing as they can heal themselves they can fight battle after battle without getting worn down like other classes. [Full Sprint, No body Armor, City Maps]

Sniper – Snipers come with a ghillie suit. They have superb long-distance rifles and are a serious threat from afar. Snipers are most likely to succeed when they are either far behind friendly lines/ or far behind enemy lines. Either way there are plenty of ripe opportunities. Snipers are also effective in closer range combat with a combination of slow rifles, pistols, grenades, and claymores. With effective natural cover or if backed by a support or medic snipers can thrive as deadly killers in the midst of combat. [Full Sprint, No body Armor, Jungle Maps]

Special Operations- Special Ops soldiers are armed with deadly carbines effective in long and close range combat situations. The explosives that Spec Ops soldiers are armed with (C4) can be used against infantry or tanks. You must blow the C4 yourself because they are radio detonated and you hold the radio. [Full Sprint, No body Armor, City Maps]

Support- Armed with a large clip, short-range LMG the support class is meant to… SUPPORT. Using bursts of fire and grenades support soldiers can rip an enemy’s defense to shreds. With ammo bags support soldiers can give themselves ammo or give it to their team-mates. Useful support soldiers usually have a very balanced score with perhaps (in a 20 minute round) 10-20 Teamwork points and/or 10-20 Kills with 5-10 Deaths. [Half Sprint, Body Armor, City Maps]

Assault- The assault class is armed with standard combat rifles and grenade launchers “noobtubers”. The assault class can be an effective front line player, breaking down defenses, capping flags, and eliminating general enemy resistance. In later forms the support class is equipped with flash bangs which allow them to blind nearby enemies (Tip: your crosshairs will flare if an enemy is blinded by your flash bang). [Half Sprint, Body Armor, All Maps]

Antitank- The antitank class is giving the grueling job of eliminating enemy tanks APCs, and general vehicles. Armed standardly with SMGs they can hold their own… but not for long. The SMGs do to little damage to be used as a deadly combat weapon. However… the rocket launcher or antitank weapon is a heavy weapon that with 2 or 3 shots can bring down just about anything... of course it will take 10 seconds to get off that many shots. [Half Sprint, Body Armor, All Maps]

Engineer- The kit of frequent armor users… The engineer class has the guns to do on foot damage, but they have wrenches that can repair vehicles so they often use vehicles. If you play on foot engineer lay mines at key points repair friendly vehicles and unlock the MP7 damn fast. [Full Sprint, No Armor, All Maps]

    2. Weapons. For more info about the basic weapons go to http://wiki.bf2s.com/weapons

    Basic Weapons

92FS Pistol- Basic pistol with fair accuracy and fair damage. Takes 7-11 bullets to kill a foe. Always reload after you kill someone. Has a 15 bullet Clip. If you have a fast trigger finger it is extremely deadly.

M16A2- A solid rifle that is slightly weaker than some of the other assault rifles. Still it has good range and is reliable. Expect to use 9-12 bullets to kill a foe. Has a 30 bullet Clip.

M4A1- A good carbine with a red dot scope and long range capabilities. Has a fair ROF but watch your clip. It empties fast due to the number of bullets needed to kill close range. Has a 30 bullet (henceforth known as Standard) clip.

M249 Saw- Very Inaccurate LMG. If you can avoid it… do so. It has 200 bullets in a clip but you will miss with a lot of those.

M1187- A powerful single shot shotgun that holds 7 bullets and comes with 49 more. One shot will kill an un-armored foe and two shots will kill an armored foe.

SRAW- An antitank missile with 5 rockets. One shot will kill any infantry but it is used for destroying tanks. If you are skilled 2 shots will take out a tank. The missile can be guided after firing! (aim for a. the turrent b. the treads .c the bottom).

M203- A grenade launcher. The M203 is deadly at close range. Point the odd looking crosshairs at the ground if front of your opponent if he/she is within 10 meters. Any distance longer than that move one line of the crosshair up above the enemy’s head for every 10 meters.

MP5- A relatively weak SMG with a standard clip, the MP5 is a powerful weapon at close range if you get off the bullets fast enough. At mid range place it on semi auto and make sure to fire at the torso.

    (USMC weapons… finished)

MR-444- Basic pistol with fair accuracy and fair damage. Takes 7-11 bullets to kill a foe. Always reload after you kill someone. Has a 15 bullet Clip. If you have a fast trigger finger it is extremely deadly.

AK-101- One of the best basic weapons the Ak-101 is powerful, fast firing, and accurate to about 100 meters. This gun has a standard clip.

Dragunov SVD- A semi automatic sniper rifle that is accurate to about 250 meters. With a 10 round clip you should be able to take out 3 people. Aim for the enemy’s chest with your first shots and the recoil will carry the next bullets into the enemy’s head.

AK-74U- A carbine with red dot scopes the Ak-74U is powerful and accurate. It has a fair bit of recoil and a good ROF. The Ak-74U has a standard clip.

S12K- A clip loaded shotgun with 7 bullets this automatic shotty will blow you away at close range, but don’t take it outside 10 meters.

RPK-74- A powerful LMG with low recoil and fair accuracy this is the best base LMG. It feels like a toned down PKM and it has 150 rounds in a clip.

PP-19- A slightly better version of the MP5 with a larger clip the PP-19 is nicer but it feels crude…

Eryx- An antitank missile with 5 rockets. One shot will kill any infantry but it is used for destroying tanks. If you are skilled 2 shots will take out a tank. The missile can be guided after firing! (aim for a. the turrent b. the treads .c the bottom).

GP-30- A grenade launcher. The GP30 is deadly at close range. Point the odd looking crosshairs at the ground if front of your opponent if he/she is within 10 meters. Any distance longer than that move one line of the crosshair up above the enemy’s head for every 10 meters.

    (finished MEC weapons)

Note: I have found that many of the PLA weapons feel like cruder MEC weapons.

QSZ-92- Basic pistol with fair accuracy and fair damage. Takes 7-11 bullets to kill a foe. Always reload after you kill someone. Has a 15 bullet Clip. If you have a fast trigger finger it is extremely deadly.

AK-47- The AK-47 seems like a cruder version of the AK-101 and a less accurate M16A2. It therefore has less range than M16A2 and cruder than Ak-101 so it is often overmatched. The Ak-47 has a standard clip.

GP-25- A grenade launcher. The GP30 is deadly at close range. Point the odd looking crosshairs at the ground if front of your opponent if he/she is within 10 meters. Any distance longer than that move one line of the crosshair up above the enemy’s head for every 10 meters.

Type 88- The Type 88 is quite similar to the SVD. It has a ten round clip and is semi automatic… however the sights are the same as the bolt action rifles so it makes the Type-88 slightly superior to the SVD.

QBZ- 97- This carbine is well-rounded but is not special or overly superior in any way. The QBZ- 97 has a standard clip.

Norinco 882- This shotgun is an old-looking gun. It performs fine however and I find it to be slightly more accurate than the M11-87. The Norinco 982 has 7 rounds in the gun with 49 outside.

Type 95- This LMG is slightly less accurate (feels like an m249 with more power so accuracy counts less) than the others but it seems to be more powerful. It is better than the M249-Saw and worse than the RPK-74.

Type 85- The type-85 reminds me a lot of the MP5 and is quite similar. Fairly powerful, standard clip and well-ranged… but overmatched in a firefight.

Eryx- Eryx- An antitank missile with 5 rockets. One shot will kill any infantry but it is used for destroying tanks. If you are skilled 2 shots will take out a tank. The missile can be guided after firing! (aim for a. the turrent b. the treads .c the bottom).

    (finished PLA weapons)

Hand Grenades- Hand grenades are useful for clearing out large amounts off enemies, flushing out enemies, and for checking the area ahead of you. You get 4 grenades.

C4- Radio detonated explosives with a blast range of about 15 feet (powerful blast range of about 5 feet). 2 C4 directly on/under/or on the side of any vehicle will destroy it.

AT Mines- Mine that explode when a tank or other vehicle drives over them. You get 5 AT mines.

Knife- Just a standard ol’ knife. One stab to kill non armored foes, and two stabs to kill armored foes.

Smoke Grenades- Smoke grenades emit a large cloud of smoke that disappears quite quickly. Still if you are trying to get away form a sniper or tank… etc than use one of these puppies.

Flash Bang- A blinding grenade that makes your enemies… blind. After you throw a flash bang make sure YOU are not looking at it because it blinds EVERYONE. If your crosshairs flare after you have thrown a flash bang then you have blinded a foe.

    (finished everybody’s weapons)

    2.1 Unlock Weapons

G3- The G3 has a twenty round clip. It is powerful, accurate, and has little recoil. However you sacrifice the grenade launcher if you choose this gun for assault.

L85A1- So called “highly accurate”. Well at longe range it is highly accurate because of a good scope, but at close range your bullets will be flying everywhere! The L85A1 has a standard clip.

PKM- The PKM is a powerful and accurate gun with a 100 round clip. This LMG is great for packed areas where you need a big gun to survive. It is superior in almost every way to the basic LMG’s.

M95- This is a less accurate version of the M24 that can pierce class and body armor. If the game had made it so the armor piercing allowed you to kill non-armored with a shot anywhere then I would be all over this gun. However even though it now does 95 damage to armored foes it still only does 95 damage to unarmored foes. Still it is a good gun for sniping within 200 meters.

DAO-12- The DAO-12 packs a huge punch in close range combat. With huge damage and a 12 round maximum capacity fired semi-automatically this thing can pound away and demolish anyone. However you must be very good with your pistol because the DAO-12 is terrible at mid and long range.

G36C- This gun is marvelous. At close range it has the power you need. At mid range it has the accuracy you need. And at long range it has the range you need. This thing seems to transform from shotgun to machine gun to sniper rifle as you cycle through the more distant ranges.

MK3A1- This shotgun has 7 bullets in a clip and is fired automatically. However after killing one enemy you will need to reload so it is not particularly well suited for many urban settings. However if you do chance upon a lone guy at close range… well he is history.

F2000- The F2000 is a powerful accurate gun with great sights and huge capabilities. It is however rather unreliable. Despite this I still think the F2000 is a great gun. It has a standard clip.

MP7- The MP7 has a 40 round clip and is useful in close to mid range encounters. Although not particularly powerful it has a very fast ROF and can hold its own.

G36E- The G36E has a three round burst that makes it great for conserving ammo. The G36E has huge range great power and superb accuracy. Within 2 bursts any enemy will be dead, and if you use three bursts they will be deep into hell. The G36E has a standard clip.

Scar-L- The Scar-L is sketchy. It is styled as an awesome gun, but isn’t really and it is ridiculed as a useless gun but isn’t really. It has a red dot scope and is good for anti-sniper work but aside form that it is pretty average.

MG36- The MG36 is slightly less powerful than the PKM but it can be fired in a burst of 3 which make sit more accurate. The MG36 is a reliable tough gun that is pretty good overall. The MG36 has a 100 round clip (try firing off all the bullets on 3 burst)

L96A1- The L96A1 is a jacked up M24 with a more powerful zoom and better accuracy.

P90- A SMG with a 50 round clip and a red dot scope. The P90 is reliable and fairly powerful but unless you need to use it for long range work than pick the DAO-12.

    (finished unlock weapons)

    3. Tactics

    Medic General Strategies
Identification- As a medic you need to identify priorities. Scan your minimap frequently keep an ear open and make sure your not to busy shooting that you miss a guy 3 feet away from you that is critically wounded. Medics have to be aware! Stay moving at all times and before you revive someone scan the area. Chances are the enemy is still lingering around. Make short work of him before you revive, otherwise you will get pWned. Also understand what role you will need to play… Should you be a reviving and re-healthing team player or should you be storming in?

Position- A killing medic should be at the front of a group of team mates with preferably the G36E… keep moving and use your health and speed to overwhelm foes. If you want to support your team mates then stay slightly behind the action and only fire on exposed targets (ex. Someone attempting to flank your mates). Toss medical packs at their backs and keep your paddles handy.

Execution- A skilled medic keep himself and his team mates alive while helping to advance his team. Keep moving… know what gun to use… know if you are going to be a “Rambo” medic or a supporting medic and kill as many people as you can (a Rambo medic storms the front lines like any other class while a supporting medic will hang back and provide covering fire).

    Sniper General Strategies

Identifaction- First of identify how you will be sniping. Decide: Will I be camping a particular choke point or spawn (for this you would claymore your position and stay well away from your target)? Or: Will I be closer in firing several shots and then moving (where you will preserve your claymores and reveal yourself more)? Then identify your targets. Don’t unload a clip on everyone you see. Make an educated guess. Is this guy injured more than 5%? Or can I get a headshot? If you said yes to either question that fire away… but if you have ex. A body shot on someone who just spawned than hold off and conserve ammo.

Position- As a “chokepoint” sniper get in a good position with a great field of fire with good cover. This is where you are so far distant that your main priorities in order are: Can I shoot well from here? Can I be chanced upon by enemies here? Can I be spotted here? As you can see concealment comes last because hopefully other guns wont have enough range and accuracy. As a “moving” sniper you have different priorities. You need to have very good concealment and perhaps a smaller field of fire. You should be moving after 2 or 3 kills so the small field of fire wont inhibit you, but your close proximity to the enemy requires very good cover. You should ask in order: Can I be spotted here? Can I be chanced upon by enemies here? Can I shoot well from here?

Execution- Your execution is simply knowing when and how to shoot. For a “chokepoint” sniper you should fire only when you have great opportunities… simply because you will get more opportunities. It is very important to lead your targets and let them walk into your sights, you should also be moving your sights slightly up to adjust for bullet drop. Keep your eyes peeled for enemy activity and if you can't kill a guy then sight him. “Chokepoint” snipers can be great as a unique spawn point so perhaps be a squadleader. For a “moving” sniper you should be dropping down getting off as many bullets as you can and then moving. Fire at anything that moves and then whip out your pistol and unload a bullet or two. If enemies get close to you use your nades and clays to scare em off.

    Support General Strategies

Identifaction- As a support class player you need to identify your targets. If it is a fixed target (ex. A frequented choke point or spawn point) or if it is a moving target (ex. A specific person) makes a big difference. So does the fact of: Am I focusing there because I see people? Or: Am I focusing there because I know there will be people there? Here is a quick guide for a What to Do With Targets?

    What To Do With Targets?

Fixed Target-Visible People= Lay down lots of bullets into the fixed target spreading the visible targets around. Then use more withering fire and grenades to get your kills and help people break in to there!

Fixed Target-UAV or Experience= Toss grenade after grenade in, As you get more kills push your grenades back towards the rear of the target.

Moving Target- Visible People= Lay down tons of bullets and overwhelm them with sheer weight of fire. This is your typical firefight.

Moving Target- UAV= This is tricky lay down a lot of grenades and hopefully look for a more frequented area.

Position- Your position is important as support. You should be prone in a well-supported are with cover. The support class should stick to just behind the front line, easily defensible, and covered or concealed positions. The support class is called support class not Rambo class no matter what some people think. With grenades and bursts of fire with an above said position nothing can trouble you. If you think that you need to charge the front lines or move up than thoroughly clear the area with grenades and then mover up in slow bursts from cover to cover. Generally however the support class should only move up when the field of battle has moved up.

Execution- Find yourself a good position, identify targets, go prone, get ready to hang out for a while, and start shooting. Always remember to support the advance of your team mates, so once in a blue moon get up and toss someone an ammo pack… it isn’t that hard. (I have worked for a while and done lots of experiments to write this strategy… hope you liked it).

    Special Operations General Strategies

Identification- There are 4 types of Spec Ops.
    1. Blow up the commanders stuff
    2. Blow up tanks
    3. Kamikaze
    4. Use your carbine to fight on the front lines
A 1. Spec Ops should take a jeep and zip by the front lines to the commanders assets. You should stick around too, a lot of commanders will drop supplies to fix their assets, but you can use the supply drops to rearm.
A 2. Special Ops should stay to the side of chokepoints and roads and kick a good cover. Make sure you know what you are doing because a. You need targets and b. Don’t blow yourself up
A 3. Spec Ops is well… the desperate Spec Ops. Load 2 C4 on the front and one on each side. Drive up to a tank or into a group of infantry. Now there are 3 options to detonate: a. commit suicide (just ram them) b. beep your horn loudly right next to the tank. He will blow you up (and then your jeep will blow him up) this way you don’t get negative points for suicide or c. bail out juts before you reach your target and blow the detonator.
A 4. Spec Ops should stay at mid range. Your carbines are very accurate and have great sights. In close range they are not quite strong enough and you have no body armor. If you are close range use your C4… you don’t have to blow just toss it at your feet when you are in CQC and the enemy thinking you will jihad will back away. Shoot them as they do so.

Position- The position of Spec Ops greatly varies depending on if you are fighting as 1,2,3, or 4. Just use your speed!

Execution- Again check the Identification paragraph!

    Assault General Strategies-

Identification- As an assault you are the basic guy on the front lines pounding away. For this you need to be QUICK. Stay alert. If you are exchanging bullets with someone… do so but make sure you are scanning the area around you and the mini-map. Use your grenade launcher when you need to. There are situations where you will need to use the GL. Identify and act on it.

Position- Front lines! That is your job: to be on the front lines breaking down defenses. Always move forward… even if doesn’t give you a tactical advantage it still pushes the front line up. Also remember that even though you are breaking down the front lines… DON’T be selfish. A great strategy is to pick up whatever kit you see and then play that role. The class is basic but a killing machine so after you kill someone pick up their kit. You will get more points and benefit all of your teams needs.

Execution- Keep moving, keep shooting, be willing to exchange kits, and break down their front lines. The assault class player makes a good team player, so join a squad. The grenade launcher is spectacular for firing into small buildings and clumps of people.

    Antitank General Strategies

Identification- THINK FIRST! Ask yourself: Can I hope to bring down this tank or APC? If the answer is no THEN DON’T FIRE A ROCKET! Simple as that: but if you have good cover and enough rockets or if the tank is already smoking then fire away. There are 3 places to aim for: A= The front “roll” or the back “roll” of the treads. B= The bottom of the tank. C= The turrent of the tank.

Position- You need excellent positioning as an Anti Tank. Try to get above and to the side of where the tanks is/ will be. It makes it harder to track your position. Remember when you fire there is a trail of smoke…. So NEVER EVER fire from the same position in a row or even in a round. Be in a place where you can dodge down or slide over into solid cover. Even if you are concealed, in the open you will probably die. Now as antitank you can also be on the front lines using the DAO-12 in CQC… this is not your job though. Bear it in mind. You are an ANTI TANK not ANTI EVERYTHING.

Execution- When you fire a rocket swoop it in to hit the target so there is no warning lock, also this will make the smoke trail harder to trace. Know how to use your pistol; you will be stuck from time to time in a situation where you need to fight infantry at long or mid range. Your AT rockers can help but you will also need uber pistol skills!

    Engineer General Strategies

Identification- First off ask yourself: Am I going on foot or in a tank. I will only guide you on the foot part because the tank would be well a vehicle strategy. If you are going ground pounder than get your mines to fast and perhaps find a tank to hang out with. You can repair it, it will keep you safe, and once in a while you can kill that close in soldier who tries to sneak up on the tank.

Position- There are two types of ground engineer: The killing one and the repair one. A killing engineer lays his mines and that gets into a close in area or a mounted gun. That way the killing engineer is not at a range disadvantage. A helping engineer finds a tank or APC to fix up. Make sure you are not in front or in back of a tank when you fix it. More often than not that will get you run over.

Execution- Know what type of engineer you are and make sure you are doing your part. Make sure you always have a full clip in every weapon. Ammo goes fast as an engineer.

Wow and with that I can shut my bleary eyes and rest my aching shoulders for a bit. Hope you liked it all. (Almost all of my support knowledge was given to me and tutored to me by Mr.Benis [although the guide was completely mine and original]).

    5. Tips

These are general game play tips.

Keep alert at all times and keep your eyes and your avatar moving.
Use semi auto in longer fights and auto in close fights.
Be part of a good squad.
Follow commands, and do your part.
Start firing at your opponent’s chest so that the last bullets rise into their face from recoil.
If you are going around corners (idea inspired by vesuvan) than jump and prone around the corner to get behind possible enemies.
    Stay cool.
    Use concealment and cover.
Remember to prone and jump and crouch: whatever you need do it!
    Know your map.
    Identify choke points.
Have any more? You tips are below here!

    6. Conclusion

I worked for a while on this guide and I hope you like it. Please post what else you want in the guide and give me comments. I spent about three hours on the guide and about 10 hours doing experiments and I think it came out good. Biggest Tip: Don’t follow the crowd! Also just so ya know: I am no longer a Karkand rat. I was experimenting and other maps and realized… darn this is way more fun than camper map!

I found alot of the stuff to be wrong. You dont get 7 rockets you get 5, 1 stab to any target to kill them. C4 can be detonated anywhere on the map. The L96 only differs from the M24 in sound and thinner crosshairs. The AK47 is more powerful then the AK101 and M16A2, not as accurate as either but more powerful. The M16A2 doesnt take 9 shots to kill anybody. Single-shot an AFK player to see how many shots it takes. And finally the M249 is as accurate as the user who is firing it.

A+ for taking the effort to do it though.

First thing: you are right... my bad :0 It happens
Second Thing: Sometimes it takes 2 stabs. It seems 50/50.
Third Thing: Of course c4 can be detonated anywhere iw as saying it is useless to detonate c4 with no target!
                          for l96a1:http://wiki.bf2s.com/weapons/sniper-rifles
Fifth Thing: I said it was more crude nothing about power
Sixth Thing: I never said it took 9-12 shoot si said expect to use. After all how many times have you met a full team of people AFK and shot them with semi- auto.... pls
7th Thing: The m249 is slightly more accurate than the the type 95 but there is no practical difference. SInce you fire more bulllets from the m249 it gives the feeling of more chattery less accurate less powerful shooting.

Alright you got it all now?

                            Re: Battlefield 2 Bottom Line

You typed 9 shots to kill a target, it takes less then 9 shots. The knife only takes 2 stabs when you either miss or that irritating little bug goes into effect. I've played this game long enough to know whats what.

The L96A1 is apt to become the most beloved sniper rifle in the assortment. While EA/DICE tries to sell their expansions as balanced with the original game, this gun is clearly a cut above the rest. Take together the best of the M24 and M95 and you’ll end up with the L96A1. It has the same firepower as the M24 and M95, these rifles will reduce the health with 95% of a full health soldier in a single shot. On top of that, the L96A1 is together with the M24 the most accurate weapon in the game. But it overpowers the M24 because of its load time which is equal to the M95.
It says that the L96 and the M24 are the most accurate, taht means that they are the same.

I SAID EXPECT TO USE 9 Bullets! Answered! And thinner crosshairs make the L96A1 easier to aim... therefore i say more accurate...

So you came back with one wrong reply. One i am not a n00b reply and one opinion reply... stop trying to disprove me and the post. Stop making it look bad.... and thank you for posting your ocmments

The main focus of my guide was also not in the weapons... you can look up stats anywhere and argue all day long... it was about the gameplay. You are just pissing me off and well you have killed stick possibility
