Cant play offline

An issue i thought someone might be able to help with.
This has happened several times, I can play online no problem, but off line I crash to the desktop after selecting map.
My usuall fix is a reinstall.
I've tried deleting the My Documents\bf2 folder, but to no avail.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

try to reinstall it completely or reinstall the patch also try instead of clicking join game press escape om your keyboard. hope i helped

i am going to ask this question b4 any1 else does why would you want to play singleplayer?

Hey single player is a good place to practice sometimes - especially flying! But yes I would downlaod patch 1.3 again (not from EA downloader) and then reinstall and try that.

Tried re-installing 1.3 patch,no luck
Tried ESC instead of join game, no luck
Also happens with 1.4 patch installed in separate folder.
A full reinstall will fix it but it has happened 6 times in a few months.
I will keep trying, or give up and re-install.

p.s Due to work commitments, I get to stay in a motel 12 out of every 14 days, Just this week I've managed to talk the motel owners into letting me set up a wireless connection using their internet service 256/64 adsl. Its not much but if the moon is in the right spot in the sky,and I hold my tounge just right, I can get a ping of 50

Have you tried clocking your O/Ced P4 back down? SP is more CPU-intensive than online because of the bots.

Yes, I tried going back to stock speed, but still no joy.
I have been able to run 80 bots per side (with bot modifier) before it gets framey.
Seems strange people seem to have more problems not being able to play online, yet I mine is the opposite.
It's not a big issue, I can reinstall, It's just eats at me not being able to fix it.

Are you using just the stock 16-player maps? How many bots are you trying to use? Are you using actual SP or co-op mode? I haven't used SP since patch 1.3 was released since co-op mode gives the same functionality and more.

SP mode on standard 16 player maps. No mods
co-op mode? I'll have look that up.
Untill last week 98% of the time I've haven't had access to the net
