I did some more tests and this is what I have found:
PKM (or any other LMG) does very little damage to a chopper. I used 4x100 bullets at close range to finally make it to blow up (of course, less then half were actually on target).
It seams that the cockpit is more vulnerable than the tail. It takes 21 M95 shots in the tail to kill a chopper and only 7 to the cockpit.
Also 4 direct hits with the GL will destroy it.

Whats the blue shell?

Explosive anti-material (building) round is my best guess.
