help. debug assertion error

now i used to play the game just fine.. recently i installed 1.4 beta and wanted to go back to 1.3 so i fully uninstalled the game, then i reinstalled bf 2, euro F, and Armored F and 1.3.. now whenever i start up the game i get

Open the Video.con in /My Documents/Battlefield 2/Profiles/001
Find the line that reads: VideoSettings.setResolution YYYxYYYY@YYY
and replace it with : VideoSettings.setResolution 1024x768@60Hz
These are pretty much failsafe settings.
If it works, set the resolution and Hz you want to use in the Ingame Video Settings Setup

€dit: Are you sure u deleted everything form the 1.4 beta? I do not know that folder you mentioned above nor the "DiceCanada" stuff. You should delete EVERYTHING BF2 related from your HDD (including Registry entrys) before you re-install it.

You can also try to change the line i mentioned above to:
VideoSettings.setResolution 800x600@60Hz
Every Nowadays monitor can handle that.

it worked on 800 by 600 but i refuse to play in a res that low... 1280 by 720 used to work until i reinstalled
