That is true, however my "home server" (Moders) doesn't even have mutiny votes selected in the server options, but there is always an admin there, & as a rule you can only command 2 rounds on, & 2 rounds off

Besides, I play there so much, even the guys that aren't in TS know me, & my reputation

When ever I create a squad, it fills up instantly

Most ppls complaints about how they are treated by other players in BF2 is because they don't have a "home"

    "follow me men"

Talks about a general who is put to prison. Anyway, theres a quote which 100%, literally describes whats going on in BF2 right now.

Its something along these lines, I may be mistaken- "If you play chess with one and the same opponent, his first three moves will always be the same."

As a jet pilot in BF2, armor movement is ALWAYS the same. You can literally assign a macro that takes off, takes a course and bombs a target area and you get a kill, in the first 20-60 seconds. If youre commanding, its advised to keep that in mind. I myself almost NEVER issue orders, but when I have a competent squad at my command, I try to set them at defense, to repel that "enemies" first move with their armor, at a certain flag, and THEN move on in for the offensive. Provided I have a good squad, I succeed in keeping my flags, destroying enemy armor and moving in for a successful offense.
Sorry, never saw that movie, I will have to put it on my list

I also give few orders, I concentrate on providing intel, & support

9/10 of my orders are to assign squad leaders flags to capture, splitting them up makes them harder to arty, & spreads the enemies defenses

I also have the advantage of always having 1, or 2 squads in TS that actually follow orders

Thing is, when youre playing with regulars, you can use the commander seat as its intended. Full VOIP, full communcation in all channels in all directions. If youre playing with random people, teamchat is the only way to go, and you can only act as an "Intelligence office", as in, you provide the information, and hope to god the team does something with it.

Needless to say, the best, by far the best gaming experience has been commanding 4-6 cooperative squads. My god, that is awesome. I had a bomber, 2 man squad, a chopper squad, and 2 full squads all 4 on VOIP with 100% communication, aswell as 2 other cooperative squads. Only then you can start really using your own full experience and knowledge gathered from everywhere (boot camp for example) and use it on the field.

If youre a good commander or a squadleader, youll notice it when people start talking back, and call you "boss".
I like how you think Chris

My "peeps" call me "Serial", "Butcher", or "Pimp"

Usually when I command there will be 6-12 high ranking officers in TS, & half will be in vehicles, & the other half "ground pounding", & others not in TS gladly follow them

Believe it or not, I sometimes enjoy the luxury of watching the majority of my team working in cooperation under my command, & we almost never lose

    I command an "army" everyday

There really isn't any brainstorming that goes on to be a good commander, it's more or less common sense, which surprisingly, alot of people lack. I have no military experience, yet am an above average fps gamer and pretty good commander when I feel like doing it (which I don't enjoy, so I usually don't).

Dont use artillery as offensive weapon. If you do, open your eyes and get that tunnel vision off man! Always have arty as the last resort to defend a flag that is attacked by hostiles and no friendlies are nearby. ALWAYS assume that if friendlies are nearby, they will rush to collect arty shells.

The way I use arty is, I attack flags which my troops will reach in more than 15 seconds of time. I drop arty at flags that are about to be hit by hostiles.

I treat jets as my artillery more than my shells, the fun part is, they get the teamkills, I dont.

I also do not hesitate to drop artillery on my own team if Im absolutely sure that they will lose the fight. Losing a flag is more important to me, as a commander than losing 2 guys that fight a losing fight.

Then again, I dont command like your average commander, yet people like me when I do command.
Listen to this guy, he speaks truth

There is a certain point where a soldier has to "take 1 for the team" LOL

Higher rank just means you play more, which doesn't necessarily equal better skill in every case. I guarantee most of the stat padders are awful fps gamers.

Playing commander is like playing chess, & the more personal experience you have @ every role, in every situation on the map, the better you know how the "pieces" move, & the less likely you are to arty your own "pieces"
