New way to promote teamwork and balance

you all know what goes on right now: medic whoring, c4 whoring, etc. well, here's a few ideas for actual teamwork and keeping 3/4 of your team from playing medic. i'm sure you all know of america's army. squads for 4, 1 with a saw, the others are riflemen and you get 1 medic in the squad. that is where this idea comes in.

the idea is to force people into squad so they're actually being used. but you also limit what can be put in the squad, like only 1 medic per squad, 2 AT, 1 engineer, etc.

i know people will flame this, but seriously, who wants to play in servers all day that are nothing but medics. it'll also make sure certain kits get played. for instance, almost every map/server i play, i ask for ammo, there's not a single support on the entire map. and i continue asking every minute for the next 10, just to see. never do i see a support. so this will get some classes played.

also, i keep running into a certain situation where 3 pieces of armor and 2 jeeps will crowd my base, killing everyone, and does anyone spawn anti-tank? NO! they just spawn as sniper or assault to run at the tank and die.

i know this will cause some problem, and it's not in the battlefield style, but where's the teamwork if everyone is a medic and they run off alone to rambo the entire map.

also, this is only a half baked idea. add your own to it, but seriously, don't flame this post (even though i know you will cuz you must ***** at someone or you'll die a painful and agonizing death from an aneurysm) because there's really no point to flaming other than to show off how immature you really are. i'm just giving my thoughts. you got a problem with it, walk away, punch a pillow, or maybe you can go play BF2 and have fun before EA totally destroys it, instead of insulting people with rude remarks because they think about things.

sure those medpacks help me heal my self but the main reason Im a medic most of the time is because medic guns are the best

I've played in good squads before where we had almost all classes. The squad leader kicked anyone who wouldn't spawn as the right class. We spawned as the class we needed the most and it worked out well. People really should start making these decisions for themselves though. If you will always spawn as medic or assault even with a tank you deserve to die. Find a better squad that doesn't always spawn as the same thing.

what, that is such cr4p. G3 wins over any medic-gun all the time. That is, leaving noobness from the G3-user out of the question. The medic guns are nice, but not the best in the game.

Kind of defeats the purpose of the whole BattleField series. I for one dont really like being in a squad unless its with my clan.

kit-limiting sounds good. i think in PRMM they are trying that.
though i do think it needs to vary depending on the map being played. ie: a heavy tank based map needs more AT while an inf based map needs more assault/medic/support

making people play certain kits is not a good idea

They are having that in Americas Army. But a bad idea, not gonna work in BF2.

Re: New way to promote teamwork and balance

The general concensus is against "forcing" people to play certain kits. Thing is BF2 was meant to have diversity of all sorts, with kits, vehicles, aircraft, etc. People like certain aspects of the game which are very popular. You have your pilots, your tankers, your ground pounders, snipers, medics, spec ops, etc.
People play what they are good at and what they enjoy. That is what a it's all about, enjoyment of the time spent while immersed in the game. You start forcing people to do this, that and the other and people will just end up going elsewhere.
This particular game has gone through some major transformations in the 1st year, some were good some were not so good. If you start changing things around even more that is going to send people over the edge that are still getting used to the way things are.
On a side note, if someone like to use a certain kit or vehicle, that does not make them a whore. The definition of that is more accurate when applied to a person in a server that does not serve the interest of the team overall and rotates to a specific action/vehicle/kit as a means to their own end.
