  • Game options reset?

So I go to log on today and the login box pops up and it says "offline" where it usually has my name. So I have to type in my name and password to logon - haven't had to do that since the first day I installed the game last year.

Once I get on I discover that all of my game options have been reset to default and all of my favorites are gone (the worst part).

    Has this happened to anyone?

Your config files might have been deleted.

          Dedinitley not a virus.

Who knows what happened - another BF2 oddity I guess.

its not a virus, its happened to me twice, just a bad boot when the game loads. were you able to close the app and restart bf2? did the problem persist? let us know...

Unfortunately the game updates some of those files every time it runs even if you haven't changed any settings. So a bad bug/crash could corrupt or delete them. It's a good idea to make a backup of your profile both for this reason and in case you need to reinstall your OS.
