Getting points in older versions?

Hi there!

I have a problem... I have not for two weeks now got my points.
Basically the only server I played on was this server.

I am running 1.22 to avoid the bugs, that's one of the things that is worrying me. The other is that the servers name is "moddet" which makes me beleive that is somehow modified, and therfor not ranked (everything tells me it is ranked, though). I noticed when playing there that on SAK jeeps were "misplaced" on different parts of the maps (beside the US arty), that is worrying me too.

Should I be able to get points on ranked 1.22 servers? What is wrong with that "moddet" server?

Please! I really need this answered before I waste more points and time...

if its ranked i think you get points but the server is against roe

You only get points while playing on 1.3 servers. The servers say they're ranked, but it won't change your rank.

Only servers running the latest/current version of BF2 can provide points for advancement. If you play with any other version, you are only getting practise.

Well I must say both of you guys are wrong! I tried playing three days in a row and advanced. The thing about ROE I had no idea about... Though there were different official EA servers running 1.22 :hmm:

Um... all ranked servers must update their versions in a "timely" manner. If they are on older patches, they aren't ranked.

Why'd you post a question and then answer it yourself?

I didn't think EA had anymore BF2 servers.

Lol, lol and finally lol.

EA has BF2 servers. I answered my own question, yes, but I answered it four/three days after I posted it. And yes there still are ranked servers on even patch 1.0.

Well, I am willing admit when I am wrong, but without solid proof, I am a bit reluctant to conceed just yet.

It could be a glitch.

Feel free to check my stats history at bf2s (http://bf2s.com/player/46663699/history/Score/). As you can see I've been on holiday and my computer has been repaired, the last few days have been intensive bf2 playing :)
And I have not played 1.3 due to the large amount of crashes and bugs.

Please don't take this as a personal dig, but checking your stats will not provide the proof as the stats do not indicate what version any server you played on was.

As an admin for a Ranked server, I am familiar with our "contract" to run said server as "Ranked". In order to maintain ranked status, we MUST update the server to the latest official EA/DICE patch. Not doing so can result in the server losing its ranked status and ALL points accumulated on said server are subject to nullification by EA/DICE.

I don't have the agreement in front of me, so the exact wording is off, but the idea and intent remains the same.

EA doesn't run any servers. The ones called EA Official are the public ranked servers that game providers must provide to be able to sell ranked servers.

10 for every 100 I tihnk it is.

I thought of that too when I posted it, sorry.
Anyways, here a list of all ranked servers running 1.22 game-monitor. I have gotten points on them except the damn "moddet" server. I trust you people if you tell me it's illegal to run servers on older patches, but I am surprised that nothing has been done on these servers. I hope I don't get my stats wiped though

actually weh n i installed b2 on my dads comp and played th original patch while downloading 1.3 i actually got points for those rounds i played and belive it or not there is still 5 or 4 ranked servers for original out there.

it was actually really fun playing the orig versionas planes took skill to fly and the carrier never got raped.
