I use a Saitek Cyborg Evo. Great joystick! Everything is mapped to the joystick including pov. I only use it for jets though ... i still find i'm better flying chopper with keyboard only and use the joystick to change the throtle ...

Saitek joysticks can be adjusted to a left handed setup.

for what it costs, it's well worth it. Very cheap, good for the money.

Yeah even though i got mine for christmas, the extrem 3d pro is amazing. if u get it set the 8 way hatch button on the top for views. also it good for using in tanks, with the turrent moveing it around is a lot easyier. DEFIANTLY the best buy i think

I just did that too.. LOST CONNECTION with 67 tickets left. New round starts, I get 4 tk's :S - However, the server crashed again (thanks).

But I'm getting SO DAMN TIRED of this 1.3 server crash. Lost too many points in 1.3 due the server crashing

I use a logitech force 3d pro. Same look as this one, but black and with force feedback.

I have two setups, for flight and for "vertically challanged" vehicles (boat and land vehicles).

Flight is like so:

Button 1 - Primary fire/mouse 1
2 - Secondary fire
3 - Afterburner
4 - Flares
5 - Parachute
6 - Eject
7 - Seat Position 1
8 - Seat Position 2
9 - Main Commo Rose
10- Commander Commo Rose
11- Switch fire modes
12- Voice comms

POV hat is assigned to mouse up down left right through joytokey
Throttle tab is unimaginatively assigned to the throttle.
Twist is assigned to rudder
X-Y axis controls pitch/yaw

I haven't yet finished setting up my land/sea config yet. That'll be mainly done through joytokey so I'll post the config for anyone who wants it.

I had a Logitech Attack 3D joystick, which doesnt not have twist rudder and is "buttonly" challenged. You have to rely on keyboard a LOT more with that one, but its for righies and lefties, and overall is a VERY nice stick. I know Colony uses that one and hes wicked-good.

Use the "thumb" rule, which means that your thumb has to have control over 3 most important functions, which is afterburners, seconday weapon and weapon change.

microsoft sidewinder force feedback 2....theres a reason they still go for $300 new and about $100 for a nice used one, there is no better stick for the battlefeild series of games. i had a x52 and returned it after a week, HOTAS is way too much for bf2, its designed for a flight sim, not the arcade style of flight in bf2.

ps.: I would use it mainly for flight simulators not BF2...

I'm not an "Air Whore".
I use a Logitech Wingman Strike Force 3d. It works great, however I use my Razer mouse and keyboard more than anything.
