Why does everyone say snipers dont work as a team?! Are you all stupid?! Lets give a scenario.....

You and your 3 squad mates are moving towards an enemy base. Little do you know that there are 5 enemy soldiers spawning there. However, today is your lucky day, because me with my sniper rifle are perched on that building, and i spot the enemy's. I then start picking them off, or at least taking them down to 2 bars of health. I have therefore HELPED MY TEAMMATES. THAT IS TEAMWORK!

THEY MAKE IT EASIER FOR THE REST OF THE TEAM!!!!

Now none of you can say they dont, because i have given you a often scenario.

thank you very much i use sniper alot and i always work as a team you can even have squads of snipers snipers work together aswell and snipers do more team work than most by lowering health piking off people and spotting thank you alabam that needed to be said

its called combat support, thats what snipers, tanks, jets, attack helicopters, and other small arms are for. i love how this community is so against combat support.

Normally it's a squad of medics you're facing so 2 bars really is nothing...

I always get loads of kill-damage-assists while playing as a sniper, yet no one really realises they are getting easy kills on guys with 2health bars, and it goes largely unrecognised as teamplay.

Dude out of 6 games i have the greatest record of sniper kills, MGS its not online play but dude, there was a 9 man army hammering me and i nailed them all with the SVD, the greatest thing is i have it all on video, which i'll show you some time, BF2 i never miss with the l691a, im the guardian angel for my team, Vietcong, i could hit a headshot in the Fog, COD not so much the US weapons but the german, russian snipers, damn boy i was untouchable, HALO is a solid game to master but i masterd it with the sniper rifle, a total *** wooping, GTA i never missed a shot on any mission with a sniper, i favour the Spec Ops kit for BF2 because it gets me more points, but as a sniper, if your the enemy concider yourself dead. So as you say snipers are fags, bring it to the BattleField and i'll show you that we as snipers arnt fags.

Snipers that move around with a team and provide that support are great, however snipers that sit off in the same place on anything tall for an entire round trying to land kills for themselves aren't participating in teamwork at all. Nothing more infuriating as a commander when you have five lone wolf snipers sitting in the same place, especially when the enemy flag close to their position is completely clear. When I go sniper I make a point to spot threats, weaken the enemy so my team mates can kill them no problem, etc etc.

Nimbob i 100% agree, but when it comes down to one base left as a sniper i have no choice but to get in a spot where i defend it even if that means laying in wait for the rest of the round.

I do this quite often but i cant seem to get the hang of working in a squad as a "pro-active" (always involved in the thick of it type of thing) sniper. I always seem to get left behind after the squad caps. However that doesnt mean im useless.., i take the kills whenever i can and spot anything that moves.

Not my fault if i can usually go (on avg) 15-20 kills IAR without dying
Just means that silly pubbers cant spot a nooblet camp0r sniper, hey if camping an area where i can see 1 or 2 flags clearly with a large killzone, works then too right im gonna use it as a tactic :P

How exactly can snipers team play? They can't heal, they can't revive, and they [aren't supposed to] get into close combat with their claymores. So how do they help your team?

They go behind or near enemy lines and generally make them selves a pain the *** for the enemy. They don't capture flags, they KILL enemies.

The only form of teamplay i see snipers good for are staying back to pick off oncoming troops while you squad moves in to take the flag, spotting enemy movements for your squad and the occasional flag defence with claymores.

I do like causeing havoc when i camp a certain spot makeing sure i can cover atleast 1 Ground AA station and a TOW station, its fun to watch ppl jump in time after time and shooting them out lol.
