    Re: hackers

EA/DICE could sue this HACK SITE it would be easy to do. But I guess EA/DICE can't figure out how to file. Meaning they don't have a clue how to sue them. I would file under a company making a FRAUDULENT PROGRAM added to their copyright.

          Re: hackers

Theres another way to bring down those hack sites. If they are ad-supported websites u can report them to the hoster, like Yahoo or Google. Those hosters do not allow there sites to be run for hacking purposes. I've already heard of many hack supplying websites that were taken down. Its not 100% but its worth a try.

The Server Owner's Group is working on something right now. It should stop most of the cheaters and exploiters.

More information will be released soon. We are currently looking for a python programmer to finish up the last of what needs finishing. Once thats done our project should be ready for release. So if you know of a python programmer thats worked with BF2 before send me a private message here on the forums.

Kill'em all,let Dice sort'em out!Seriously tho.Maintaining a master ban list that admins can run on their servers will help, but not all admins will do it.Still,I would play only on those servers that do.The lower the chance of hackers getting in,the better.Leave and find another server..pfft.Why?If everyone did that the game would be over run with them.Stand up and fight for your right to enjoy a game on a server of your choice.Other wise, you and all those that share your veiw can spend more of your playing time server shopping than playing.

Seriously though, I am baffled why they take no legal action against the MAIN streaming hack supplier.

unfortunatly these websites are doing anything illegal, ea cant do a thing about them other than find a new cheat service other than the garbage punkbuster but they are so deep inside each others pockets that will never happen. untill ea hires a cheat detection system that actual gets off their assses and does some work we are all screwed.

posting their info is nothing new, there was a good blog that had all the guys info daniell saltman, but he was able to get it shut down legaly because they caused him potential bodily harm by listing his home address and info. anyone that wants it can get his home address and name and even new tele, but it isnt gonna do any good, he isnt doing anything illegal untill ea actualy pays some money and hires some lawywers who know what they are doing to write their terms of service, its a joke now full of errors and 5 years old.

to touch on what topdogger mentioned, the server owners group shouldnt have to get something together to stop hackers, thats ea and punkbusters responsibilitiy, not people paying out of their own pocket, its a shame that we have to make our own fixs to stop hackers, punkbuster is a joke and you should all let ea know you feel this way becasue these guys are already porting their hacks over to 2142, same engine , same easy to code hacks.

Listen, I run a web site with users that register. Little different then this one. Do you not think that your I.P. is registered with your connection through a CGI script? Do you not think that your I.P. could be traced directly to your home?

I can't really figure out if you are a "glass is half full" person, or a hacker apologist. It is not a loosing battle. In fact they have not even really started.

EA/DICE looses money because they have to spend money to have people code patches to prevent some of these hacks from working. They are in fact loosing customers because of it. To me if they (EA/DICE) cannot get the bugs/hacks and script kiddies under control I see the same happening to BF2142. Why then should I invest in it. I will just stay with what I have for a long time.

BF1942 DC and POE rarely have hackers and script kiddies anymore because it is not the latest greatest game. So I ask why should I move to the latest and greatest to have to endure this same **** when I have little precious time to game with buddies. I normally only have an hour or two a few times a week, I am on my own server, and no I am not leaving, they can leave. But when I run across them I have to stop playing to collect enough evidence to ban them. The BFROE prevents me from banning these kiddies simply because "I think they are hacking" but usually it is very obvious. They stick out and they ruin the game for everyone else.

                        </soap box>
The only way to catch hackers is by punkbuster screenshots. This is probably the only usefull thing pb can do. It is up to the server admins to catch hackers, because we know EA sure as hell isn't going to do it. No video game companies prosecute hack sites, it is not worth their time and money.

Losing money? Get real. You have already bought the game, quiting now isn't going to take away from their profits. Imo, I have NEVER seen an "obvious hacker". I think you run into good players more often than you run into hackers. This game as been out so long there are players who are very very good at it by now. Even if someone does have an aimbot due to the random cone of fire crap he still is very beatable. Hackers don't give you good reactions or good knowledge of the game mechanics. If you watch the aimbot videos you will realize that the guy doing it has no ****ing clue how to play bf2.

Hacker apologist? Come on. Me and my clan have caught multiple hackers over our time in Nam and Bf2. I have just come to terms with the reality that is online gaming. Hackers exist, deal with it. If you think someone is hacking, kick him for "making room for members" or something like that. The main thing you need to do is take screenshots of him, that is the only way you can catch him.

Well first Id like to give cudos to the server owners who posted here. You guys rock.
The hackers arent that hard to detect when you play against them. (I really dont know of another way to do it) Some of the hackers have no skills to speak of and the hack is thier only hope, Ill give you an example. I used a sniper rifle on a hacking sniper and was in constant movement while hitting him 12 times with the L96 sniper rifle. He finally hit me the second time with the SVD and I died, he did not get killed. All this at about 70 meters.
The second bad one was yesterday. I shot a guy 6 times with the AT shot gun and he did not die (I was killed by his granade, we were both on foot). This was at a distance less than 10 meters.
Then theres the snipers and pilots with the Aim bots who never miss. Have you noticed the new hack that drops chaf, flares from the air craft at the same time you fire AA rockets (every time you fire AA rockets).
Oh sorry thats not one but three. I wish the hackers were all banned permanently. I know thats not going to happen. Telling the server admin will usually get you booted and some times banned. Ive gotten to where I will just leave the server, I find it very sad indeed.
On the up side Im getting to where I can kill the cheaters on a regular basis and when I do, the sad part, all I can do is Tea Bag them. Sighhhh.
You need to remember, though, that the use of a cheat or hack is like standing up and shouting to the other players "I sock at this and this is the only chance I have". Sad isnt it. . . . . . . .Red

there is absolutly no invincibility hack or one that would make your bullets cause less damage,or your AT rockets to miis,if you hit him you hit him, period. youve wrongly accused an inocent person of hacking, like 99% of the players that accuse another of hacking. it was not a hacker at all, just some lag and server issues thats all.

almost 1,000 hours and i can name only 2 hacking situations ive seen and both were the endless commander drop and nothing more.

They are selling a modification for bf2, bf2 is not their property. Is EA. Another company can't profit from EA software without EA ok to do it. EA as the copyrights for the code. This is why mods for bf2 are free. EA should do something, but they dont care.
