I just watched a bunch load of videos of players abusing the game. Commanders dropping tons of cars, aimbots, mini maps etc etc.

Surely the people behind these hacks, the ones who write them are tampering with the BF2 source code. Can't EA prosecute them for breach of contract and get those nerds sent away for some hard time?

Hacking is gradually becoming more common. I'm not whining, I hardly play the game nowadays, but those who do are having their experience ruined for them.

Can't EA actually use some of the money they made and invest it in getting the bandits who are selling their hacks to other nerds?

I have wondered why some VERY well known locations to purchase these hacks haven't been procecuted. Maybe EA should hire some of the RIAA/MPAA law firms and get it done.

Seriously though, I am baffled why they take no legal action against the MAIN streaming hack supplier.

I guess they feel maybes the problem is too big, or they don't wanna waste money on legal fees.

My opinion is that it is money well spent because it would encourage more players to play online. It would also stop the constant name calling that frequently goes on where players acuse one another of hacking. The biggest hack out there can't be seen in a pb screen shot which means it is vitually un detectable.

My guess is that it probably aint against the law to sell the hacks....also the hackers own the game they have hacked, therefore, that prob aint against the law either. Even if it was unlawful, it is too petty to go to jail over. All in all care factor..... ZERO

Hacking for a game isn't by itself illegal, however before you sign up for BF2 you agree to EA's terms and conditions. Part of EA's contract is that you do not tamper with source code...and more so you do not sell parts of it either. Hacking breaks these 2 rules, however I'm sure it breaks alot more.

Hackers do not own the game. I would hope there are significantly more 'real' players than there are cheaters. More players would join up than would be lost if EA took action against the trouble makers.

Its just something you have to expect. Most people are not hackers and they do not "own the game." Hacking is bad, but its always going to happen. You have game open to millions and some are bound to outsmart the game. If you want to be paranoid about the issue just play single player. No hackers there.

Going to jail for a damn video game, is that how much you love and will defend this game, to send them to prison? A bit much if you ask me. The ruin your game experience for you and you think its just to send them to jail?

Always when Dice/Ea publishes a new patch then old hacks cannot be used in newer versions, so thats one good thing about new patches.
I think that those who make hacks are fed up with normal bf2, so they want something new and challenging.. and pwn noobs (actually they are theirselfs noobs). I think that PunkBuster's team should make hacks and publish them as "undetected" and when someone goes to play with em' he/she will get banned from ranked servers. Or something like that...

Seem like it could fall somewhere under the DMCA's (digital Millinium Copyright Act) anti cirumvention laws. That might be a stretch, but stretch is what the DMCA does best. lol.

When you register a site you don't have to give your real name, so the people runing the sites can be untrackable. Prosecution takes a lot of money, time, and effort, three things EA is most certainly NOT going to throw at this game. There are tons of hack sites and if EA gets one closed down there will be four new ones opening the next day. This is a loosing battle. Hacks will always exist in online gaming. If your in a server with a hacker, leave and find a new one.

I like that idea. Buy/user beware. Yes I think that these people that are making and selling these hacks need to spend at least 30 days in a cell. Their acts are criminal. No different then petty theft. It negatively affects others.

I discovered last nite playing on SUX2Bu server(my mistake) that it was NOT the commander dropping all the vehicles on my team.

Apparently that particular hack works for any player in the server(anyone using the hack of course), not just the commander.

So when you see it happen, don't assume it is the commander that is the hacker. For all I know, it could have been someone on the other team?

Listen, I run a web site with users that register. Little different then this one. Do you not think that your I.P. is registered with your connection through a CGI script? Do you not think that your I.P. could be traced directly to your home?

I can't really figure out if you are a "glass is half full" person, or a hacker apologist. It is not a loosing battle. In fact they have not even really started.

EA/DICE looses money because they have to spend money to have people code patches to prevent some of these hacks from working. They are in fact loosing customers because of it. To me if they (EA/DICE) cannot get the bugs/hacks and script kiddies under control I see the same happening to BF2142. Why then should I invest in it. I will just stay with what I have for a long time.

BF1942 DC and POE rarely have hackers and script kiddies anymore because it is not the latest greatest game. So I ask why should I move to the latest and greatest to have to endure this same **** when I have little precious time to game with buddies. I normally only have an hour or two a few times a week, I am on my own server, and no I am not leaving, they can leave. But when I run across them I have to stop playing to collect enough evidence to ban them. The BFROE prevents me from banning these kiddies simply because "I think they are hacking" but usually it is very obvious. They stick out and they ruin the game for everyone else.
