Death by grappling hook?

I was playing warlord today when I was suddenly killed. The scroll at the top left said GRAPPLING HOOK!!!!! What the hell? Am I the first person to suffer this death.

To get the record straight, it was the enemy commander who kills me, and I am not climbing anything. Meaning, I am not climbing his rope and he just retrieved it. I was walking along and suddlenly dead!?!?!?

I know it can be found in the stats at BF2S.com, but I have never heard of anyone actually being killed by the hook or the zipline. It's cool that it happened and there's proof, but it sucks that I died.

yeah i used the zpiline as a weapon before and killed a few people. if someone is low on health you can also just throw a greanade at them and the force of your throw will kill them. lots of eird ways to die.

It means you were killed with the zip line in your hand. Same with your defibrolator deaths...it is the number of times you died while they are in your hands....same with the different guns etc.

It is not possible to be killed by a zip line or grappling hook - it has been tried and tested over and over.

You can die by flashbang and grenades before they go off - but not zips or grapples.

If you get your line stolen while riding or climbing - the death is not attributed to whatever you were on - it was attributed to the ground - so if anything it just says they "killed" you - not ziplined you.

I know there are other posts about this, but no one has ever been killed by the grappling hook. So, since it happened to me I thought I would post some the proof that it can happen. Be it completely random and soewhat improbable it still has finaly happend. And I did not have the grappling hook in my hands, I was in the middle of a street.

Happened to me once when defending the palace on warlord I was standing to close to the window I just dropped dead and looked up to see it said killed by grappling hook.

It happens if the guy who kills you is climbing a grappling hook while he kills you with something else. E.g., if you drop an AT Mine, climb up your rope and while doing so somebody hits the mine, it will say you killed them with a grappling hook. Possibly the same for arty.

Actually would be fun, just to try to kill people by throwing nades and smokenades at them, before they go off

Sometimes you kill someone with a rifle or pistol and it says something different in the kill message. But thats only a harmless bug.

i once killed someone with a smoke grenade. i trew it in his face and he died by the impact. just like it is told earlier in the thread. very much pwned!!

That happened yesterday. Some dude was in the bottom part of one of those bunker things I throw a nade in instantly it says you killed whatever his name was then a few seconds later I hear it go off.

Yup thats right, infact it happened in the below screenshot I threw two grenades into a window in the palace on Warlord the first exploded took two people out and a third perished from the other grenade (well it said grappling hook).
