heres the support ticket sent to ea games techies:
i get an error installing bf2 it says failed to install bf2 please try again(which ive tried). but it doesnt work then when i try to do a manual install in the middle of transfering disk one it says cannot copy data2; data error (Cyclic redundancy check)

If u still go the recipt for the game, take it back to the shop and tell them the problem and ask to change the game to a new disc. It sound like there is a fault with a disk. If u still get the same problem with the new disk phone up ea support.

It is indeed a faulty cd. I had the same problem with cd. I borrowed a friends disk, and it installed perfectly.

I figured it was my CD rom drive when that happened to me, because I tried again, and it worked fine when this error hit me last night. \=
