    Re: Knifing when wet

How about the silenced pistols only? (spec ops and sniper)

But they better have some sort of protection for swimming the water with 2142.. i mean.. its 2142.. something HAS to work underwater.

          Re: Knifing when wet

bullets dont travel so far in water and are very unlikely to kill

the resistance the water gives to the fast moving bullet stops it moving in less than 10m with 9mm

with higher caliber rounds they just break up on impact with water

anyone seen the mythbusters epsiode where they tested this?

so knife only would be best

We should be able to grab the guy's head and hold it underwater until he drowns... We need no knife!

This is hard to explain fast since I gtg.

But if you have something a inch wide standing up. You fire a 9MM at it and it goes through, so you put it at a 45degree angle. Now what happens when you fire at it now is that it has to go through 2X the amount of armour. What mythbusters did was fire it at a angle effectivly giving the water 2X the amount of resistance.

                I say

                - Spec Ops get there main gun + silence pistol when in water and not moving
                - All other kits get there pistols (silence or not) when not moving.

Also all this talk about underwater what about holding it above your heading and shooting it at his head.

but on mythbusters they where all (exept shotty if i believe) able to fire underwater...and one was able to kill a person

i think a knife would be a good idea! And if you use paddles you should both die!

In response to the poll, things should stay as they are. if you think about it, its not gonna be easy to fire a shotgun whilst treading water now is it?

Probably why I called this thread "Knifing when wet" instead of "Shooting a shotgun whilst wet"

A knife would be the most they would be able to do with that because if they gave people full use of their weps in water.. whats the point of staying on land?
