Make tanks a stable platform to stand on while in motion. If I remember correctly it was a lot less jittery and dangerous in BF1942 (I vaguely remember sniping from on top of a moving tank.) It would be really cool to get a bunch of guys to pile on and make it a makeshift APC or something.
Well anyway...yeah, just had to get that off my mind :)
its got to do with the crappy collision detection that BF2 supports, Ive been saying for months that they need to fix it. Take a look at BF2142 they HAVE to have fixed it because in the new game mode the titans move and most of the battles take place on the moving titans, can you imagine holding a battle on something as jittery as standing on a tank, so we know its fixed in BF2142.
and since 2142 is on basically the same engine, it should be possible to backport those collisions to BF2

Sounds great, but the collision detection wouldn't tolerate it. It's too easy to get tossed to the side and die like a bug under the treads .
You can stan on airplane wings while they're flying in 1942 FFS!
I still have some of those Wing-walking stunt videos. The DC ones were great, where they would jump out of the C-130 to the A-10, lay C4, parachute away and BOOM!
