lol if u put the whole team up there ur not gonna be able to stop a good pilot from circling around and having his gunner blast u every time u spawn

add an AT guy to take potshots at the heli will return to repair after 1 hit

ok this is what I hink they should have done to sharqi, make the TV station a uncapable USMC flag and make the MEC heli pad flag the only MEC uncappable flag, make all the other flags grey and of course remove that tow thing at the hotel


TV station uncappable would reduce the chopper spawn raping for sure and USA would have more chance to win if they had an uncap flag

Hmm... let me share you BF2 most kept secret, which is called "Improvisation". A mounted .50 cal will take care of that Mi-28 EASILY. But I guess the problem is that you want the Cobra so bad that you cant leave the rooftop, huh? My god...

TOW at hotel can be made useless with a car parked in front of the Mi-28, thats not an issue.

All you have to do is park the HMMV next to the chain-link fence behind the TV Station.

That way you can shoot through the fence at the chopper and whatever the chopper throws at you, hits the fence instead. :p

Leave those MEC searching for an alternate attack strategy.

I've allways thought if one side gets an uncapable flag, so should the other.

But I'd rather see no uncapables at all, so both sides can actually win the battlefield.

Uncapables just give one team a perminant source of Armour/helis/planes while a team without the uncapable generally looses its important base giving all the armour to the side with the uncapable. We've all seen it many times on Karkand and sharqi.

Uncapables lead to spawn raping too, if its the only base left everyone goes there and rapes. Rapers feel cheep for doing it and the raped are unhappy because there getting it with no lubrication.

There are atleast one other map that needs changes more than Sharqi. On
Gulf of Oman the MEC planes can be raped during take-off in the beginning of
the round. If this happens you can spend the rest of the round watching the
planes get blown up on the runway. If you get shot down even once during
the round the same scenario is likely to happen.

The biggest problem with the TV station is the placement of the stinger. But
then again most maps suffer from the same problem. The TOW on hotel could
simply be moved a bit so that it cant reach the TV station.

I don't think any changes will happen though. I cant remember a single
change to any map in the changelogs from the patches.

Haha, never. Sharqi is one of the best maps and its fine, if anything the MEC are slightly at a disadvantage, since USMC have all the CP. Only if MEC have a good team or a few players willing to do teamwork, they will go around cap the hotel, move up cap the alleway, construction and one will even cap the tv station.

And if the MEC chopper is pummeling crap outta the tv station then don't spawn there, or stay inside the building so you cannot be hit. And if your willing to do something about it you would attempt to hit it with the AT, or use the Stinger or even the Hummer's 50 cal.

As was said, one or two guys can easily defend the TV station - that is unless they are all standing around the roof waiting for the Cobra to spawn.

You'd be amazed at how easily the .50 cals bring down choppers. It's best not to go face to face with them (but sometimes that even works) - get in a nice "unexpected" location and lay into them when they come by. Hell, half the time the pilot freaks out and crashes trying to evade you. And if you can get two firing into him at once, he'll drop like a fly.

It's a little unfair that the MEC can attack the US chopper spawn but the US cannot attack the MEC chopper spawn. It's normally game over when the MEC take and hold the TV station.

I doubt it will be changed though.

I love Sharqi just the way it is

You can always go steal MEC chopper, APC or tank as USMC to even out the odds.. unless you're playing on a server that kicks for it, but that's a problem with the server rules, not the map.

If the map had dual uncaps, I think flags would have to be re-placed etc. MEC tank/apc spawns are a bit too remote to be contestable flags. It just wouldn't be the same.

I did this last night to the mec chopper. unloaded into it with the .50 cal, got about 4-5 hits before it freaked out and swerved even closer to me.... bam bam bam BOOM.... 2 Kills for me :)

TV station uncappable would reduce the amount of strategy and teamwork required to win, and every map would be better if I designed it. Plus, its giving the Dice team extra work to do, so they can focus on changing maps to my preferences and not have to worry about the more serious issues that need to be addressed with the game.
