        Re: Counterstrike Source

I am a very established CSS player, as i have had the game for a year and had played CS 1.6 for a while before it. Right now, css is my favorite game. Im in a good sized clan and i have full admin capapbilities in our 66 tick clan server. I dont have to worry about installing patches, because everybody gets them installed automatically at the same time, and every couple moths or so, valve will release a newmap, or they will remake a current one with hdr. And since the game has been out for a while, it is nearly perfected. The game is really easy to just jump in and play a few mintues. There are short loading times and the server browser is easy to use. There are next to zero glitches, thanks to the Source engine (which i might add has great graphics and physics) Right when you jump into it, youll be pretty confused, becuase its a whole different ballgame then BF2 or a normal DM multiplayer game. The game consists of rounds, so at the beginning of each round (avg. around 3min) You have to buy a gun with the money you earned in the round before, or if you didnt die in the round before, you keep all your items. This can be weird when you first start out, but in no time, youll catch on.

I recomend CSS very much. Its the most played multiplayer fps on the market now, so id definately say give it a try. Its only $20 anyways, so go for it.

            CS:S was AWESOME until i discovered BF2. Now BF2 0wns my life.

Also CS:S is more of an infantry FPS. It's usually close quarter fighting. What's cool though is the effects of bullet spray on walls and the blood spatter effects, oh and the ragdoll physics. There is sniping, but I personally am not a fan of the "AWP" which is essentially an anti-tank rifle that will take out anybody in one shot.

Also you can't drive anything, but you can shoot things inside buildings like computers, paintings, trash cans, chairs, telephones, TV's. ALot of stuff is destructible.

              Re: Counterstrike Source

CSS is pretty good but its alot different from BF2, imo BF2 requires alot more complexed, if you compare both communities its pretty obvious. BF2 community is alot more intellectual if you like, the majority speak and talk like adults, same with in game. You do get occasional smacktards.

CS community is different. When I played CSS around a year ago I go in a server and its ''I LIEK TOTALLY PWN U U SUK DUM (racial word) ) saying that to each other, So when I go in BF2 most people don't talk at all, mainly because they use TS/Vent etc.

As you can see theres alot of 10-14 year olds that play CS e.g is funk3h lmao, so you gotta watch what clan you go in for CSS, as you might come across a clan thats full of 8 year olds lol.

But yah its pretty good if your playing with friends. Valve's games are overall good, just a shame they ruined it with Steam.

In my clan, i happen to be the youngest member, at 16 years old. We have a rule, to recruit noone below the age of 15. Most other members are in there early 20's.

BF people are more mature huh... every single time i go into a pistols knives server in BF2, ther are always 5-10 people who are being fags and use tanks and rilfes. And no matter what we say, they dont change. And the funny thing is, these arent privates doing this, these guys were like first sergeant and above. The other day in css, i told everyone in a server it was pistols only, and they complied without complaining.

Well...I've played Counterstrike back in the half life days, and played condition zero for a while...so i'm very familiar with the system it uses. Thanks for all the replies though.

                        Re: Counterstrike Source

Yeah, CS:S is basically just Counter-Strike on the source engine, so the graphics look better, and when grenades blow up and move stuff, it moves with that source physics engine. I haven't played it in a while, but I'm pretty sure the maps are the same as in Counter-Strike.

                          Re: Counterstrike Source

CS:S is probably my second favorite game(BF2 being the first). great graphics, great gameplay, good physics. the only downside to it is that it is steam-powered so it can crash every once and a while. it is great fun but the community is not as good as bf2. primarily consists of 10-18 year olds the majority of which are lacking in the maturity dept. none the less i highly recommend it and its only $20.

its really nice looking CS. plays nearly the same as before, just looks a lot better.

i kinda stopped playing after i got BF2, im much better at BF2 than i am at CS.

                              Re: Counterstrike Source

If I'm looking for a really quick game I can quite at any time that loads fast I play CSS (Can prolly be playing in 1 minute from getting the thought.)

Unlike BF2 where it takes 1 minutes to start the game, 2 minutes to login, another 2 minutes to beat the browser into submission, and another 3 minutes to load, then to find it's a sucky server...

GET IT WITH HL2! If you don't have this game, it's easily in the top 3 singleplayer games. Really, you must get it if you haven't. It's required as a gamer.
