I know there are reports of false GLOBAL HW bans from punkbuster
because you can have corrupt ram (check your ram with memtest)
and it can corrupt some game files thinking PB you are hacking.

some programs can cause kicked form the server or say you have cheat.
but mostly you get bans if you try to hack PB it self so. rolf

there are so many optoins what could caused when you are bannend from all PB servers or you are really cheater.

the only way to unban your giud is email evenbalance or go to punkbusted and if you are lucky you can play again.

ok heres the situation, I got the my ticket responce and to make a long story short, I was told that someone was hacking on my CD-KEY and that in order to be able to play again I need to purchase a new key.

For anyone that is interested, here's my ticket:

Note #4: I never installed any cheats on my computer, and the only things I have running in the background are my anti-virus and firewall. It is completely unfair and unlogical that you would ban my GUID, I refuse to just walk away from this situation with an "ok thanks" because I did nothing wrong and for some reason punkbuster thinks I was cheating and I wasnt. I am the only one who has this cd-key, noone else uses my computer, and there is no way that I have ever installed/downloaded any cheats or hacks on this computer. The only thing that I have ever done to punkbuster is try to update is manually because I was having problems with it, maybe thats the problem? I will not let this one go until everything is sorted out, I have done nothing wrong and I will not stand for this.

Note #3: The GUID you supplied was logged using a cheat that tried to prevent
detection by PB. The method used is considered by us to interfere with
the way PB is designed to work, therefore violating our EULA.

If you were not cheating, then someone was either using your computer
or your CD key and was caught.

Either way, your GUID was used to try to hack on PB servers and it is
now permanently banned. You may still play on non-PB servers as our
bans only apply to servers with PunkBuster enabled.

I guess my next step would be to contact EA about a new key, although I really don't get how someone could have gotten mine in the first place, and whats even stranger is that the person responding to my ticket said I was somehow trying to modify PB with a hack..... Anyways, like I said in the ticket im the only one who uses this computer. We will see, I'll keep you guys updated.

Also before I forget, does anyone know who I should contact at EA?

you had to of downloaded some kind of a single player hack or some hack for a diffrent game. most hacks or illigal software, even torrent crap will steal all cd keys from your pc. id try to do a windows update if i were you, youll probobly find your windows cd key is also invalid, along with every other peice of legit software you own. live and learn but you visited a site or downloaded something you probobly shouldnt have to get your cd key stolen, it didnt happen out of the blue.

as far as i know, ranked servers dont use a master ban list, only unranked ones.
however if a player is getting kicked from every server, ranked or unranked, then it would be a global ban, if this is the case, even if you get a new game with a new CD key, it still might not work. if it was you that was cheating (only you really know the truth) and you got global banned, you might if been hardware banned too depends on how bad PB finds the cheat. if it wasnt you that was cheating. then the hardware ban wouldnt be slapped on ya.

How to remove hardwareban

1. Install a new Harddrive (HD). You need a new Harddrive-serial. The only was is a new harddrive. You could also set the old HD to “RAID 0” in your BIOS.
2. Disable “LAN” in “BIOS”
3. Install a new Networkcard, or at first put it in another slot. This is to change your MACadress.
4. You can also change your MACadress with many freeware tools online
5. You can try to play the game now. If you get a window/message mentioning a “GUID BAN”, your gameserial is banned. Then you need a new serial for the game also. Buy a new game. Some have the extra hardware needed, but most need to get a new game CD. Make sure you have no cheats installed, and good luck.

I got screwed by PB too. It kicked me for 2 minutes from a server because it thought I had a hack or something. Lucky me, this was a server streaming to PunksBusted. I appealed but didn't bother with it, I got a new CD-key but unfortunately had to make a new account because I assume that if I played on my old name with my current CD key on a PsB server it would kick me for being on the MBL. Thanks PB =/

Ranked do run the auto MBL, which is why I don't understand why all server admins don't ask to have it running on their servers. I know there are a few server providers that don't let you do it but I think most do.
