"Best Mod to download is"

Man I am so sure this question has been answered at full length. I, however have not found this answer after search the forums for about 20 minutes now. There are so many results that have come up when I search for this that I mus ask this question.

Can someone tell me what in the world I should download. I don't care to play online but may give it a try later on. I have heard of many of these awesome mods where they are full conversion mods (I assume, like battleracer-have not tried it) and am wondering which ones are the ones I "MUST HAVE".

Again, keep in mind I'd be playing this in single player mode and not necessarily online, I don't think at least. Thanks for your strong recommendations.

I've tried a few different mods including project reality and us intervention, and neither of them strike my interest after playing very long. I go in, drive around the different vehicles, and then I left and havn't played again.

There is somethign about the mods that just don't "feel" right. almost as if they are buggy or something.

As of right now there is no single player mod I would recommend, Allied Intent and probably the US Intervention mod are the only ones I found worth playing online.

I would venture to guess this will all change within 6 to 12 months from today,....mods will be were its at and there should be plenty of great options....Such as my anticipated list...

FH2 is not out yet :cry:.
FYI it's not Desert combat 2, it's Desert Conflict.

I would agree with FFOLKES in suggesting Allied Intent, I haven't played it but I believe it is more geared towards singleplayer than most other mods.

There is no mod to my knowledge that supports single player. A lot of the more highly anticipated mods are yet to be released. Desert Conflict, POE2, FH2 (if you need to see their websites, use google to find them).
My question for you is, why would you NOT play online?

Allied Intent does in all of there maps and the bots are pretty difficult. As for not wanting to play online there are many reasons-

-bad internet connection
-not a people person
-dont want to deal with all the bunny hopping smacktards that usually come with online play

Cool, I didn't know that. I was asking the OP why on the playing offline, didn't want to speculate.

The good mods won't be out until BF2 has seen its final patch. Plain and simple. The mod community got shafted with the BF2 engine. Some have said that EA/DICE did that on purpose to avoid another Desert Combat or Forgotten Hope from stealing the original game's thunder. Who knows, but there are a lot of mod teams (BF2 engine) now considering scrapping all work done with this engine and moving over to other more mod friendly engines.

If you are intent on playing single player, just do so in BF2. The few mods that do support single player right now are either HUGE downloads or just eye candy. If internet connection is not your problem, then start a local server and invite a few friends in for a game. That way you can still fight bots, but also play with friends. Just keep the number low so you won't run out of bandwidth.
