I just got BF2 and installed it and everything went fine. When I got to play it BF2 pops up on the screen goes black like the game is fireing up but then it goes back to windows. I never got the game to work and cant find anything wrong and never read anything yet that will tell me how to fix it. Does anyone know how to fix this?
I have a sony vaio with XP.
We will need for full system specs to properly diagnose...however it could be as simple as your video card just not being compatible with BF2.
Here's a rough list of cards that ARE supported, however my ATI Radeon x1300pro isn't on there and it runs fine. It's a rough list from what I have heard, but at least it's a place to start.
Battlefield 2 supports the following video cards:
Radeon X700 (PCIe)
Radeon X600 (PCIe)
GeForce 6600 (PCIe)
GeForce PCX 5900 (PCIe)
GeForce 5800 Series (AGP)
ATI Radeon X800 XT Platinum Edition
ATI Radeon X800 PRO
ATI Radeon 9800 Series
ATI Radeon 9600 Series
ATI Radeon 9550 (RV350LX)
ATI Radeon 9500 / 9700 Series
ATI Radeon 8500 Series
ATI Radeon X300 Series
NVidia GeForce 6800 Ultra
NVidia GeForce 6800 GT
NVidia GeForce 6800
NVidia GeForce FX 5950 Series
NVidia GeForce FX 5900 Series
NVidia GeForce FX 5700 Series
and to add on the list...any video cards by ATI/NVIDIA better than that list like the 7800, 7900 and those series and the 5200 also works and i belive the ati 8500 and 9200 and 9250 (only a few works)
I wouldnt think it would be his video card. I had the same problem but did a driver update and all was well. Now I get in game but it freezes! Thanks EA!
