Re: BF2 for Console vs PC

blimey mate this is rub', n way the console haa chnace of catching up, in my opinion there are more possibilities and higher probabilities for bf2 to grow on pc, nt to mention the fact that it would be dumb to play bf2 on xbox live because you not only pay for xbox live but the internet service too, (pending your not like me and get your parents to do it for you)

but hey im just some canuck\\

Yeah, patching is unheard of, so that means that the glitches stay in the game forever and dont get fixed. Patching for pc also brings new content and maps, and on the 360 you have to pay for that sh!t that we get for free.

PC is for gamers, console is for casual joes who think they pwn.

Until a console has all those features, I'll stick (mainly) with the PC (though I will be getting a Wii, but I'd rather call it a Revolution). And when a console has all those features, guess what? It'll be a PC.

except for the mods (which i can live without), and more peripherals, consoles have this. i can hook my mouse and keyboard up to my 360 (although i prefer my controller) and play Halo or whatever online, and type messages to people on my buddy list (to whom i can talk to anytime i want, even if they arent playing the same game), achievements add plenty of bragging rights, and my 360 is currently hooked to my HD moniter, and whenever i go on xbox live with a game, it automatically downloads and installs game updates (patches) within seconds.

all this said, i think its pretty obvious that i prefer my 360 over my PC (i still love my PC however)

well no wonder you have crappy stats... well, its not so bad... you do have a positive k:d ratio... though, if you perfer a pad over keyboard and mouse you will suck at pretty much every pc fps, because pretty much everyone is using keyboard and mouse on pc.

Hold your horses, those two booster packs weren't free, and they were essentially just new maps. However community maps are free.

Basically, the PC advantage is that you don't have to decide between Nintendo, Microsoft, or Sony. You just simply get a PC.

And with PC's, you get superior control for FPS games. You can talk to people with a keyboard, and you also get superior control for Real Time Stradegy games.

With consoles, everything is equal like you said. But there's patching with consoles too, it's just console patches are designed to be only a few megs in size, probably because consoles can't really modify what it needs to to make significant changes. That's why the patches download and install fast.

Also, a big disadvantage on consoles for me is the size of the multiplayer games. Most games are only 4 to 16 players, and it's mainly because each gaming session is hosted by one of the players. For nearly all FPS games on the PC, the game is hosted by a dedicated server, which means more people can play in the same game.

                  Anyways, hope that helped.

i plan on buying both xbox 360 and ps3, possibly even the nintendo wii (i still prefer the name revolution). who knows, maybe in the next year or 2 someone will figure out how to run windows or linux on xbox 360 and utilize its hardware for pc gaming =) same goes for ps3 when its released, though i doubt it woudl work as well as the xbox 360 for installing an OS.

I'd rather have a PC anyway. Even if PS3 can run Windows, how is it going to do DirectX?

after all the problems ive had with pc like CTD and server crashes i think its time to switch to consol to avoid patchs.
