Today was the first time I was complemented on a shot. Picture the situation if you will: On Warlord in the palace I'm an insurgent with the M95 scoping the security office and it surrounding area. An enemy was running perpendicular to me, so I took aim and nailed him in the head, one shot one kill.

To my amazement I was complimented on the shot instead of the usual "h4x n00b" etc. My point is if you've played CoD2 or other games you get this a lot but in BF2 this isn't the case.

I've have an idea as to why this is, other players messages are swamped by people spotting. So I ask you why do you think that the BF2 community are so “un-friendly” and don't seem to compliment each other on good achievements.

I get comps on score more than individual shots, but I don't snipe much either, and when we have several in a squad we sometimes will get a positive nod....it is much nicer than the usual 'h4x n00b" stuff...

There was only one time I was complemented in Bf2. It was when I was promoted to Corporal. That was about a year ago and Corporal required 10,000 points. Usually people think that you are cheating if you get a lucky shot.

Why would the enemy compliment you, you just apparently owned them. Their natural feelings would be frustration and anger and the feeling that they can't believe that someone is better than them, and not happiness that they just got pwned. Only time I see enemy compliments is when gunning and you kill the other attack chopper. Other than that you should only get compliments from your teammates.

i've been complimented on my Attack Chopper flying skills dozens of times by good gunners.

i'm probably the best chopper pilot in the entire community for that matter....

they really like going on 30+ kill rampages at a time i guess.

it sure feels nice hearing a nice compliment though. :p

I suppose its a mindset. Everyone is so conditioned to thinking that if they were beat or cant duplicate the same event it must be a hack. The more I play the more I realize there is alot of room for skill building in this game and I can make shots now I never would have thought of making several months ago.

I think its a great thing that an enemy complimented u. I hope to take the time to do it more in the future. After all, its just a game and if u want to become better u have to first realize there is room for improvement and that yes...someone might just be better than u at something but thats what makes u come back for more. Now if we could just get more people to play with teamwork it would be a great game.

i compliment people on nice shots from the other team all the time. expecially if you are having a sniping battle with them.

I tookout a camping APC on karkand as AT (at hotel alley) and was complimented with "never underestimte their sneakyness lol"

I had one where someone was flooring it in karkland over the bridge in a hummer. He was driving away from me and I nailed the driver in the back of the head. Needless to say he was pleased at the shot and invited me into their clan...lol

I always make a point to pass on a nice comment to players who earn it, on my side or the other team, even kills that make me laugh (like an AT rocket to the face) get a nod from me

On the flip side, I sometimes pass on the negative feeback too (although not often), and if they really deserve it, a good ol' tea-baggin' to boot!

I agree with several of these posts. It's just good sportsmanship to acknowledge nice shots/kills, no matter who it was, friend or enemy. However, if I see someone prone spam or bunny hop, and they get off a "nice shot," compliments don't seem to come out of my mouth... other things do.

In-game, calling out "H4xxzor" anything like that is lame. Although, I have called some people out for using macros.

I'll mostly compliment shots that are better than average. Like grenade kills that take out an entire squad, or a very nice LONG ranged sniper shot.

I've gotten a few as well.

However i mainly do it to people I know or have played with often.

On Wake once, I was in a server with another sniper. He was by North Base and I was by Airfield. He was the enemy. We got into an awesome sniper war, using everything as cover. We killed eachother a lot and complemented each other on shots. It was really cool.
One time we used so many things as cover and we missed a lot of shots on each other and we met up in the middle of Airfield and North Base and got into an awesome pistol fight. I won that one. Next round, we joined the same team and dominated.
