Creating an advanced city map... Central London

How hard would this be? I have no experience whatsoever, just a handful of ideas, and a fellow enthusiast, and would like to have a map created that is Oxford Street and around, or the East End of London, UK, where there are buildings like Canary Wharf and the like...

It would involve lots of roads, accurate mapping, scale and tall buildings, with detail on (can that amount of detail be added)? If any of you have played The Getaway, and gone right into the heart of Central London, albeit a very poor job done by The Getaway.

Would anybody be interested in this project? In doing so, you will be filled in with all the details as to what the project is about why I think it would be a popular idea.

Also, is creating weapons "mapping" or "modding"? I suppose you map the weapons but what the final product of this is called a modification...

- driving taxis/ buses (think of the transport :O)
- fighting Americans with an actual decent army
- a political reason, not just mindless fighting
- advancing from one end of London to the other in map-form (1st round etc)
- a host of great sniping spots (lots of tall buildings)
- organization a must

It would be a modification and you will need the best of the best. you'd have to model all the buildings in 3ds or maya or whatever. You'll be happy if you allready find 1 person willing to do it.

well, nearly every modd looks out for modelers, especially IDF; we need more Statics modeler .... so it would be hard to find somebody modeling London for you .... but it sounds nice ....

Damn I thought so I would love to do it but I have no experience in it at all, and the only codes I know are [IMG], [b], etc :P

Should I persevere? Would it be worth the time to try and learn everything and try and map it, starting from scratch, modding too? I know my abilities, and I don't reckon I could do the whole thing single handedly, mapping weapons, doing voices, maps, bug testing, releasing, promoting, having a website, and the whole package

Your opinions?
