I need to vent a bit so here we go.

Im playing Wake and I get the J10 at the start of the round, im being 'lame' and bombing the carrier. I am on 16-0 and the round has just started. I am flying along to get repairs and all of a sudden the game crashed to desktop.

    GG EA, FIX THIS ****.

    I can't even got that score in a J10 on Wake :)

In Australia theres pretty much 2 servers you can play on, either Internode or Gamearena (which each have about 15~20 servers).

On Internode you can't bomb or use any vechile in the uncapables, but there is no wait time at the start of the round.

On Gamearena you can bomb and kill anything and anywhere you like, which is good but sadly Gamearean servers are full of TK'ing morons. Theres also a server wait time at the start of the round, its 45 seconds if I remember correctly.

If the round start time is 60 seconds and not 15 seconds, this usually evens this out.

On 15 second round starts, I often get to gear first... but on 60 second starts, I'm usually waiting while more people sign in.

Sometimes I will be in the game a full 3 or 4 minutes before most of the server is in. I am without a doubht always the 1st person in the game too. I love it.

I can go fly a jet, die, respawn, and the jet will still be all there for me. :)

If they had some countdown, that would just suck. The only time I ever get the jet is the 1st round, because on the 2nd round everyone is already loaded in.

By the way, flying jets, or playing battlefield for that matter is much more fun with a widescreen monitor. I have a larger field of view, and can see much more on my screen than a lot of people. Heh heh, I think part of the reason I dominate so bad is because of my PC Hardware. :p
    You are so right.
    What were we thinking?
After all, this game was created, marketed and sold , just for your personal enjoyment.
    Please forgive us.

BF2 is the only fps that it can make such a difference having quick loading hardware. Other games just notching down the settings is all that is needed to compete. Here you can be skilled but if your PC sucks, you're a groundpounder every which way you look at it.

This is easily rectified by setting a 30 second delay at start.

there is already, the faster you load, the more of that timer you have to wait.

hang on, look at it from the other side... so they have a quick pc, they load the game first, why should they have to wait for loads of players with slow pcs to load the game? it can take nearly 5mins for everyone to finish loading!!
everyone has the option to buy a faster harddisk, its no bug or huge advantage and it only applies to a round where the level had to be loaded. theres always a swarm of people the next round...

I'm SOOOOOO glad its not just me that is slowly going over (a bit) to using a plane. I can't fly for toffee, but I am getting better all the time, and really enjoying myself with it!

say you have a decent player in every vehicle and every class, it makes infantry the lowest on the food chain. the odd time the lower people will nail the higher up people, but can you see generally thats not the case.
