Just installed Special Forces on top of the most updated BF2 client, and I get this. The whole error message isn't as disconcerting as the succinct statement in the paranthesis at the end.

Download and install the full 1.3 update. You have to reinstall it after adding SF, AF or EF.

Except that apparently EF requires at least 1.2 installed first so, in that case, you need to install the 1.3 patch twice. SF has no prereq since it patches the game to 1.1 when you install it (even if it was already patched higher).
