    Disappointing restriction!

I never liked sniping until I bought SF, but have not been too happy with the M95 lately. Not sure if something has been done to the accuracy with some of the latest patches, but it really feels like it.

Anyway, after many months of waiting to get the L96 unlocked, I was so disappointed to find out I can't use it on any SF maps!! Why in the world is an SF unlock weapon limited to vanilla maps?????????

    i can understand youre frustration.

i had to buy SF to get the l96a1 so i could use it vanilla bf2.

the thing i always found strange is its suposed to be a british sniper rifle yet the Bristish SAS cant use it they have to use a m24.

really the l96a1 is a EF unlock, its the deafult EU sniper gun,but you need to own SF to use it in bf2,all a tad confusing but it makes EA a bit of extra profit,

as for the m95 the patches have increased the accuracy to pre 1.2 m24 accuracy.

were you still compensating the old m95 bulit drop maybe.

Yeah, its lame that you need SF to unlock it, but you can't use it in SF. By the way, the M95 seems fine to me. I managed to snipe a pilot out of a hovering attack chopper at least 75 to 100 meters away. Seems fine against infantry too.:)

good shot by the way, would you agree that the m95 is more accurate than pre-1.2 and the OP may still be compensating a little to mutch bullit drop.

or it could just be a tad of the rustyness(not really a word i no) i use m95/l96 but it takes me as few shots to get used to m95 after a few rounds of l96ing :)

my best m95 heli shot was about 80-100m on the hill 2 the left of sharki tv staition i sniped the pilot out sending the heli crashing (giving me 2 kills) then to my amazment i see our mec chopper coming in for repairs(litraly 5 seconds later) and this baby was smoking flames coming out the back of course i shot to m95 rounds in to it and boom 2 more kills thank you.

dont you just love those m95 moments.

I think part of the problem with the M95 is the thickness of the cross-hairs compared to the L96a...

defenetly, I snipe a lot lately. And very agressive. which means a lot of close combat sniping. I use the m95 to blast 95% of someones health away and switch to pistol to make te kill. the thick crosshair doesnt matter close-range. but when I try to snipe people from far, I get the kill, but it takes longer because your not 100% sure of the place your gonna shoot at.

I think the M95 has been fitting the type of sniping in SF better. Most of the time you aren't doing distance or stealth sniping you are just doing defence and combat sniping. I love to just shoot the chopper pilots from the convoy roof in Ghost Town with the M95. But whenever I play as SAS I always use the M24 because it has better sights and is easier to get headshots with.
