Wow you need to go back to history class....

      Korean War????

      On topic....

If quake wars ET is anything like Wolf ET then the maps will be interconnected objective oriented....

I'm sorry, but I think the modern warfare genre is kind of played out after a year of BF2, and ET doesn't really break any new grounds in concept. Just as the WWII genre is played out, it's time to go try something new.

Any serious FPS gamer will of course get both. Whether you are slightly miffed with some trends in BF2 or not or whether you are going "oooh I hate EA!" every day, you full well know that in this niche of games: "fast-paced, combined-arms, online, military shooters" there really only will be BF2, BF2142 and Quake Wars to play and perhaps Crysis (but only maybe - Far Cry's multiplayer was for infants) - not counting the numerous mods that are on their way.

There aren't really any runner-ups in this genre...

          Cheers :-)

Imgoing to get both. they both look great. And for all you doomsayers saying "BF2142 will stink cause DICE is affiliated with it", ITS A DIFFERENT BRANCH WORKING ON IT. Not the same DIce guys who work on BF2. A whole new team. A new slate.

Correct me if i’m wrong, but i am under the impression that 2142 engine is the same as the bf2 engine, right? If that’s the case then expect to see the same bugs making the move from bf2 to bf2142.

Yes BF2142 its the same engine that BF2 uses but they have tweak it and enhanced it a bit and adding new features to it. Better coding etc.

And no, since they have said that they learned from BF2, so we won't expect red/blue/green tag and all the bugs BF2 have. I believe they are working hard to get all the bugs out of it.

It'll turn out the way it always does....

Everyone screams: Boycott AF! Don't buy AF till they fix the bugs! I'll never touch AF!

Then they empty the shelves when the expansion pack comes out.

                  It's futile to resist.

I wonder what the EA/DICE guys have to say.

I'll wait for QW:ET. If it sucks I MIGHT give BF2142 a go.

Last night in our clan match, it was wash-out because we suffered three server crashes, including one when we were leading with only 12-11 tickets to go. This was on top of the two drop-outs on our team, and three on the other during the set-up and start. And this has been going on for months now, with no end in sight for the new patch. One year after the game was released.

If you think I'm going to do that again, you're sadly mistaken.

But you just plain don't know. I, however, prefer to base my forward predictions on past performance.

agree with you there, I'm looking forward to that game.

                          with ET:QW,
TBH, i think it will crash and burn just like Quake 4.
I'll still give it a try though, but the demo first.

                          2142.
you can say what you want about EA, but I have good feelings for DICE Swedan.
                          cant wait for this game.

And tonight... great night of BF2. Went on four different servers, and managed to complete a total of a single map. There were four complete server crashes, and I only ever managed to complete ONE map.

I paid for a game that I struggle to even complete a map in anymore.
