There are indications on different pages of EA that its going to be the 15th October 2006.

I don't like it and never will. I don't like these type of futuristic games, all these laser crap, robots, hovering tanks on some weird blue crap... not my thing :)

2142 is laser free, but i doubt it will have any of the AK's

when and if i were to live in the era of 2100's than maybe i could appreiate the whole hearted value of next generation sci fi shooters. I think they are not that extravagant. They just never liked me either so meh.\\

I am pretty excited about it too. Can't wait for it to come out.

Futuristic weapons? Go for it.

Best FPS weapon EVER is the Gravity Gun in HL2. I love that freakin thing.

why would u hate 2142. its going to have a learning curve so different from bf2 . that will make the game so much more satisfying. now i'd trade in my 3 stars now just to get the game now.

I'm excited for it to come out as well.

I was a huge fan of Planetside and the fact that the game still has projectile weapons makes it more believable for those who hate on sci-fi games.

I'm really looking forward to it.

the ironic part is you'll likely have to give up those 3 stars anyway. I don't think they'll hold over the ranks from BF2.

The BF2 veterans program has a lot of people speculating that either rank or unlocks from existing BF2 players will transfer to 2142 in some way... stay tuned.

Hadn't heard about this. Any sort of transfer would be good.
Least then i know all the hours i played on this game will have some meaning for the next.

I for 1 will be getting 2142 on day of release, simply looks awesome!!!
Hopefully the squad orientated gameplay will mean just that......squad gameplay (AS A TEAM!!!)

It will be a hard choice for me, as I'm going to pick up Team Fortress 2 reguardless, not quite sure about 2142. If the gameplay in TF2 is like the classic, fast-paced & team-based, then I may put 2142 on the back burner. I can always wait until Christmas for it.

I think that people don't like the support that BF2 has been getting. People, including myself, believe that after the initial release the same thing will happen to BF2142 that has happened in BF2 (i.e. 1.30 patch).

I don't know about you, but I'm going to jump ship and try Quake Wars because of this.
